I actually think you need to be brain dead to enjoy this?!?

Steam is drowning in thousands of lazy, low-effort 2D platformers, and "Ninja Hanrei" is yet another one. I'm not kidding, there's over 17,000 platformers on Steam, almost all of them are garbage, amateur kitbashes. This is not one of the good ones. This is a laughably bad joke game, basically MS-Paint sprites on a basic Unity platformer game template, very little content, absolutely zero quality. The MS-Paint character you have is a ninja I guess, who collects coins and... oh it's just so painfully bad, make it stop. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. The developers abandoned this 3 years and 7 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint tier "art" instead of real graphics. Ninja Hanrei is a free 2D run and gun platformer inspired by ancient Japan. We play as a ninja who has to fight through different levels, collect coins, use special powers and deal with bosses along the way. The basic idea is pretty simple, but there is enough going on to make the levels more than just a straight walk to the end. The shooting is probably the best part of the game. We have a decent selection of weapons and six different powers that we can unlock, which gives us more ways to deal with enemies. The combat is fairly straightforward, but shooting while also trying to handle the platforming keeps things moving. The platforming is where the game gets more difficult. Some sections need careful jumps and good timing, and mistakes can send us back to a checkpoint. It can be satisfying when we finally get through a difficult section, although some parts can feel more annoying than challenging when we keep making the same mistake.
