NINJA MASTER'S

Well-made port of an old fighting game with surprising depth in terms of gameplay, detailed sprites and animations and dark soundtrack that helps immerse players in the atmosphere. The bosses being easily selectable is also appreciated.

NINJA MASTER’S brings a fascinating piece of NEOGEO fighting-game history into the modern PC era without sacrificing the qualities that gave the original its distinctive identity. This edition is developed by Code Mystics and published by SNK CORPORATION, with the focus placed on faithful preservation combined with practical improvements for contemporary play. Rather than rebuilding the game around modern visual trends, the developers retain its pixel graphics, controls, serious atmosphere, and arcade-style presentation while expanding the package with features that make it considerably more convenient to practice and play competitively. The game takes place in Zipangu, a war-torn realm that has endured centuries of conflict. Its roster consists of 12 playable warriors, including boss characters, each bringing a recognizable fighting style and personality to the battlefield. Sasuke stands at the center of the conflict alongside his friend and rival Kamui, while fighters such as Kasumi and Natsume contribute additional variety to the lineup. it's OK

Frankly, best of the neo-geo premium selection so far, art is gorgeous, the online worked great for what little I cared to play it, the gameplay feels easier and more fun than most of the games in the selection, and of course the thing that shouldn't be missing any more a gallery where you get the endings you unlock (plese add this to the early pc snk re-releases). The only bad thing I could say is that the arcade mode is the lenghtiest one I've experienced 12 fights, you have to beat the whole cast each run.
