About Niwa - Japanese Garden Simulator
Niwa - Japanese Garden Simulator is a gardening simulator set in Kyoto, Japan, the birthplace of zen gardens. By playing Niwa - Japanese Garden Simulator you will learn authentic Japanese gardening techniques and how to apply them to realistic reproductions of historical locations in the city. You will learn the basic elements of traditional garden composition: stones, plants and water. Then use these techniques to create your own gardens.
- Learn from a master
As a new apprentice to a famous gardening company, you will be tasked with creating, repairing and updating public and private gardens. Each level has a number of tasks for you to complete where you will gain unique skills and insightful knowledge about these special locations.
- Experience various kinds of gardens
There are a large variety of Japanese garden types, and your work will bring you to each of them: dry gardens, temple gardens, tsubo-niwas, tea gardens and moss gardens.
- Feast your eyes
The Visual aspect is important to enjoying Japanese gardens. The game also includes a photo mode, which allows you to take photographs of your garden creations and share them with friends. Niwa - Japanese Garden Simulator attempts to simulate as closely as possible the true look of plants, stones and the surroundings so that photos come out looking like the real thing.

Controls are difficult to work. The rake in the sand was not fun at all. The movement between wasd and mouse was odd - so basically fighting the interface at all times.2 found this helpful
10/10 would die at 96 again
Fun for awhile and free. Don't expect new content as last update was August, 2024.
I like it. Can definitely see the team really want to include as many content and knowledge about Kyoto and Japanese gardening in the game. Hope to see further updates.
