About Noctem
Noctem is a psychological horror game with an element of some real life experiences. What we are trying to achieve, is to give you an immersive experience outside of what you can see in your screen and for that reason we invest mostly in an atmosphere and the ambience.
Noctem is set in a little town in Alaska, with beautiful nature and mostly foggy, a place that strange things happen daily. There are whispers about the Alaska Triangle which connects the states of Anchorage, Juneau and Barrow creating a triangle in which many people have disappeared and most of them have never been found. There are many theories behind this phenomenon, but no one is willing to speak about it. People disappear and most of them remain lost. Some say they died, some say they left... Others are still searching for them, to this day. The question is, where are they? The game takes place in Dry Creek which is a little town inside that triangle. Amelia Hudson used to live in there with her family, right before she moved to England to study writing. While she was 14 years old her little brother, Tommy, was diagnosed with leukemia. After two years, he died. Her mother couldn't bare the pain and 8 months later, she commits suicide.
Four years after the tragedy, Amelia was ready to move to England to study writing. But at the time she was there, she found out that her father died under mysterious circumstances in their house. She attended the funeral and devastated as she was, returned to England to continue her studies. The time of graduation was close and Amelia needed to complete her thesis. She decided to return home in order to have quiet and be able to concentrate.
By the time she arrives though, she knows that something is wrong. She could feel that she was not alone in the house. Someone or something was messing with her head, her thoughts, her reality. Something is happening that is beyond any human understanding. Can she escape reality?
Humans haven’t yet explained the complexity behind the theories of the parallel universes, the only thing we can do, is only imagine.

Okay lets be honest, I wouldn't recommend buying this game (at a max get it from sale). And simply put the reason being that it's extremely tedious and time consuming, without you feeling that you're making any kind of progress. Basically your only guides are using common sense to search the house multiple times over and over again, and the VERY "helpful" checklist in your inventory. The game hugely suffers from lack of guidance in short. The story itself doesn't get explained that much IMO, sure you get some sort of "backstory" when starting, however that gets really abruptly ended with the word "but.." and that's it, then the MC keeps talking about probably her dad... "my dad this" "my dad that", and already being frustrated with the game, I couldn't care less about the "Story". The game also suffers from very "cheap" and not that well put together animations. When the
monster that chases you, gets you, you literally stare at the monster aannd.... you select what save you wanna keep continuing from...
It's really lazy. And then the
monster's AI itself is totally boring. It either roams in the second or first floor. But however, if you manage to not …4 found this helpful
The house itself is attractive, but the alternate dimension looks sloppy. The creatures that pursue you are annoying more than anything. The puzzles are sometimes nonsensical. Not a particularly great game and too short for the price point.1 found this helpful
Stranger Things meets every indi horror game you've ever played. Cool concepts and ideas but a little slow a little dull. I played on stream for 3 1/2 hrs and was nearing the end but womp womp much like the girl in the game, I couldn't do it anymore. Not the worst but not the best.
I don't recommend this. The game started out being kind of interesting and creepy but it ended up feeling tedious and mediocre. It also feels very generic, like there's nothing truly unique about it. There are also no interesting characters even though the game has voice acting. There was a monster but it didn't make the game better, it made it worse. The puzzles were tedious. And the ending... Oh my God. I wish I could take back the time I spent playing this. Fun fact: when a game starts and the first thing that they ask you to do is to find a hidden key to open the house door; there's a very high probability that the game will suck. I remember 3 other games that started just like that and they were all bad, and now I found this one to add to the list.
Noctem is a great first-person horror experience. Throughtout the game, the player investigates a mystery about the protagonist's family, while revisiting their old home. I really enjoyed exploring the home and every room had a story to tell. Although there are some annoyances that may put your pace to a halt, the environmental storytelling and atmosphere of Noctem make up for it. It's a game that can be played from start to finish in about 3-5 hours, making it a solid choice for a horror night.
No clear instructions on anything the monster was lacklustre as well as the story, ending made no sense most of the notes were all saying the same thing definitely not worth the asking price just to walk around for nothing .
