Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy is a historical point-and-click adventure developed and published by Microids that immerses players in 16th-century France through a blend of mystery, astrology, and political intrigue. Great point and click puzzle game just as a I remember it from my childhood. I briefly got stuck a few times from overthinking the puzzles but it's so satisfying to finally figure them out. Graphics are great for a game from its time and it even has a (basic) working mirror which is rare in even today's games. I had no fps issues and it always ran at the default 144 fps with no additional tuning.

This wants to grab more than it should. The controls are clunky. It is a first-person view, but similarly to Myst, you can't move freely; you just jump around. This means finding stuff is really hard and clunky. Voice acting doesn't really help much. It feels like they just read their line and are not acting with them.

A strange, ambitious game from the same developers as [i]SafeCracker: The Ultimate Puzzle[/i] and [i]Return to Mysterious Island.[/i] It's far better than SafeCracker, you have handful of character you interact with and can even see your own character which makes it feel more alive than a lonely with practically no direction. That said, this is a [b]hesitant[/b] recommendation and I'll get to why in a moment. Madeleine has a journal that keeps track of things; [i]you flip pages via the bottom two corners,[/i] this isn't said anywhere in the game itself. You also have a large inventory space, and a little case full of handy tools. One of which is a magnifying glass used to inspect different items because some have secrets. If you're feeling lost or forgot what you were supposed to be doing, looking in both the diary and the dialogue tracker on the bottom tab of the book can be fairly useful. The first day is devoted to you figuring out how to best disguise yourself as Madeleine's brother. This includes making appear more masculine and creating a salve to alter her skin tone. Nice old point and click game with good puzzles and interesting plot. The only thing that is kinda off, is the ending, imho, it is a bit cut and rushed, but nevertheless it is a decent game :)
