OCO is a perfect example of how a simple idea can evolve into an incredibly engaging and surprisingly deep gameplay experience when executed with precision and creativity. Developed and published by SPECTRUM48, the game strips platforming down to its absolute essentials, giving players only a single button to control movement while navigating rotating circular stages filled with hazards, puzzles, and collectible objects. At first glance, it almost resembles a minimalist mobile game designed for short sessions, but after spending time with it, OCO reveals itself as a carefully designed precision platformer that constantly finds new ways to challenge the player through clever level design and mechanical experimentation. The gameplay is built around an intentionally limited control system. The small square-shaped character moves automatically, leaving jumping as the player’s only direct action. That simplicity initially feels restrictive, but the game quickly demonstrates how much variety can emerge from a single mechanic when paired with smart environmental design. Timing, momentum, and positioning gradually become more important as stages introduce launch pads, moving obstacles, gr…2 found this helpful
Haven't played very much, but from what I've seen, it's a definite must for fans of simple yet complex platforming puzzles.1 found this helpful
Rhythm platform game that had some really sick beats! Super satisfying to complete the level and unlock new ones. Also if your into creating challenges in games, the level creation in the is pretty sick.1 found this helpful
Warped my perception of reality, but my restlessness makes me unable to play this for long periods at a time. Highly recommended for anyone curious to check it out!
it's pretty decent. I think that some of the music is too "punchy" for my taste, feels like a lot of the high hats are just too strong for me. tried different ear phones and it was still the same.
This is a very solid platform/puzzle game. It's pretty simple, but the gameplay can be quite addicting. You complete levels, but then it tells you how fast it can be done and in how many jumps. I like how the least amount of jumps does not equal the fastest time for most levels. It makes you rethink the level at least twice to try and accomplish both of the goals, and that helps make the game last longer in a good way. I played for about an hour so far and only completed the first world (and not to 100% on all the levels, so I still have a lot to do). I also love the simple, but effective music that is just a nice addition to the gameplay. The only small issue I could say is that the colors used for the background and stage for some levels bothered my eyes a tiny bit, so someone more sensitive to those things might have a hard time playing. Overall, would definitely recommend.
