Open Fishing 2

Bought this game for co-op, but the multiplayer worked exactly once. There´s no indication what goes wrong or if you actually connected to each other. Despite our best efforts we couldn´t get it to work again after day 1. Dev didn´t really answer my message in the discord either. TLDR: Multiplayer didn´t work so can´t recommend. Dont buy only for that.

Could be a decent 'fishing collectathon' but still needs some work, the game overall is very glitchy and the quest/rewards system could have been handled better as well. Honestly, even just adding some achievements would help the game a lot, you have so many hours of mundane collection content but no achievements for it, I would recommend adding at least one for completing each quest, buying each boat, and maybe one for doing 100% fish log and the taste log. It's pretty straightforward, there are a few dozens of 'Fish Gods' that will ask for you to collect a certain type of fish, you travel between the islands, and try to catch the right fish by using the correct bait and the correct fishing spot. Technically speaking the game probably could take over 15 hours, but you can explore and experience most of the game in 4, everything past that would be mostly finding new fish, maybe unlocking a few new rods as well. If I am not mistaken there are 5 primary islands/locations to explore, including the forest, the beach, the areas around the oil rig, the swamp, the desert, and the areas that are in between like shallow and deep parts of those locations, so it's kinda like 5 times 4 for f…

Open Fishing 2 is the sequel to Open Fishing XL, although it could arguably be called 1.5 since it seems to add more new features than it actually improves. The main difference compared to XL is that while this one is set on a single island, Open Fishing 2 takes place across an archipelago where you can purchase various boats to explore the waters. Progression now revolves around a series of fish-catching missions that lead to, wait for it, GOD FISH? Yes, you read that right, these are giant fish scattered across the map (at first glance I thought it was a bug, haha). In addition, the game introduces several mechanics that are uncommon in fishing games, such as cooking fish (which increases a luck counter), setting traps to catch bait or fish, and even farming, which reinforces the "open" aspect of the title. However, game is far from perfect and has a rough-around-the-edges nature that might not suit everyone. Personally, I find that playing it with some background music or videos. My recommendation is to try the demo and see if it fits your style.

Fishing game for the trve chillers out there. Super relaxing and comfy, interesting progression and a great amount of fish species. Lots of option customisation and the dev is chill af. Will update once I have played more but for now I definitely recommend if you think it looks cool :)

just boring. you might be thinking, yes, but it's fishing, but like, I like fishing games, I've played a lot of them, this one made me start sleeping. powered through to the leave the 1st island and like, didn't really find much worth it right away, so that's it. I mean, the names where funny, seeing a giant floating fish that's a god of minnows named steven or whatever, yeah good bit, but like that's all it has going for it. catching fish wasn't really interesting, tedious. cooking also just takes too long for no good payoff. map too big, I'm walking so dang far on island 1 with 3 things on it, why not have a smaller island. like competent game, just they forgot to make the game fun.
