About Orb Labs, Inc.
You follow a message from an unknown contact to the secret underground lab of Orb Labs to find evidence of "questionable experiments" conducted there. However, you soon have to discover that the whole complex is protected by deadly laser systems that will try to kill any intruder. Luckily for you, you can use Orb Labs' own weapons against them: orbs.
Sneak through the lab, avoid being seen (well, and shot at), and descend all the way to discover the truth!
Note: HTC Vive recommended. Oculus Rift (S) (with Touch controllers, and 360° room-scale tracking strongly recommended) is supported via SteamVR. The game is compatible with the Valve Index, but has not been optimized for it, and does not make use of the special capabilities of the Valve Index Controllers (yet). We're working on that!
Orb Labs, Inc. cannot be played with Windows Mixed Reality headsets, as hand tracking is not reliable enough.

It's throwing-based puzzle with stealth elements and extremely frustrating enemies. I liked it at first but with every new level it was becoming increasingly unfair to the point where I had to stop playing it at the final room. I enjoy throwing in VR as it is one of the gameplay mechanics that are unique to this media. And it's pretty good and challenging in Orb Labs with no assist to projectile speed, as far as I can tell. But the game requires way too much precision with far away throws at later stages and punishes you with instant death even on small mistakes. Add to this big open rooms where sometimes you can't even see where all the enemy turrets are located(since everytime you try to look around the corner you get killed) and the result is extremely frustrating 'trial and error' core gameplay. Final room was the worst example of that: I died few dozen times before giving up without exploring even a half of it. Visuals are decent and lighting is pretty good, but the levels themselves look all the same with a lot of boring corridors with nothing but crates, lockers and pits. [strike]Also there is a consistent visual bug that makes parts of the level look pitch black until y…2 found this helpful
A surprisingly challenging and fun puzzle VR game. Some levels are extremely hard and require some fast movements and clever ideas to beat them, having to use your whole body to avoid the lasers. Highly recommended :), unexpectedly became one of my favourite VR games. As per negative aspects, I wish there was a individual level selection inside a save file, so I can go back and collect all remaining orbs and logs, so I don't have to repeat the entire game for a couple elements.1 found this helpful
This is a VR game where you toss orbs to teleport past lasers. This is enjoyable during the first few levels. However, the problem is that the difficulty soon gets so excessively high and frustrating that the game becomes downright impossible to play. After reaching level 5, every area you can possibly reach is covered in some way by lasers. You must be absolutely perfect with your throws too because you immediately teleport where ever you toss the orb, which is most often in view of one of the many lasers that kill you if they touch you even once. Every level also looks exactly the same, which are dark boring lifeless metal corridors with crates and lockers. This one started out fine, but soon became unplayable for me, so I cannot recommend it.1 found this helpful
Orb Labs, Inc. is a room-scale virtual reality title that commits wholeheartedly to physical interaction and spatial problem-solving, building its entire identity around a single, distinctive mechanic. Developed and published by Next Friday Interactive, the game places players inside a hostile underground research facility where every step, reach, and throw matters. Rather than trying to replicate traditional first-person action in VR, it embraces the medium’s strengths by making movement, stealth, and puzzle solving inseparable from the player’s real-world motions. The premise is intentionally minimal, casting you as an intruder investigating a secretive laboratory rumored to be conducting dangerous experiments. This narrative framing exists mainly to justify the tense atmosphere and constant threat of death, as the facility’s automated defenses are lethal and unforgiving. Lasers, security systems, and environmental hazards dominate the space, creating a feeling that the building itself is actively trying to kill you. Story details are delivered sparingly through environmental cues and optional discoveries, keeping the focus on moment-to-moment survival rather than exposition. G…
Fantastic game!
This game's only moving mechanic is to throw a ball at a spot you wish to be teleported to, and that is exactly what's broken. I mean it occasionally works, but what good is that? Take Half Life Alyx, for example - if I throw an object (say, a grenade through an opening), it goes exactly where it's thrown 100% of the time. And that's not even the main mechanic of that game! But in this game - it is. And it's bad. Played for 2 hours, and I'm rather disappointed. It's games like these that make non-VR people stay away from VR. This marks it a 4th game to be added to my "♥♥♥♥♥ - don't play again" list
