✦ AI summary

System Escape is praised as a tense, replayable roguelike stealth-action game with fast-paced gameplay that works well for quick sessions, where players appreciate the challenging permadeath mechanics and variety of utility abilities that reward stealth over direct combat. However, players note the game's steep difficulty curve and one-hit-death mechanics create a punishing learning experience, with the claustrophobic randomized maps and time pressure making early runs frustrating until players understand the optimal strategies.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my initial impressions review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/2R3cxABMqOA This is a roguelike action stealth game where you have to escape 4 levels from killer robots. You have a utility gun with different abilities such as creating a shield, an emp blast, a radar, a guide, or slow-time ability. You also have a laser gun. While you are able to take down robots, stealth is usually the answer as sneak attacks do a lot more damage, plus it's easy to get overrun by robots and one shot is all it takes to bring you down. You do have to a 20 minute timer, although you can hack computers to add more time. However, if you know what you're doing you can finish the game in 10 minutes or less. Or take significantly longer if you don't know what you're doing like me. You have patrolling robots, cameras, & turrets to deal with and there seems to be more of them as you get further into the game. [strike]The biggest issue for me currently is that the gun angle is way too high on the Meta Quest Touch controllers and there is no way to fix it So you do have to point down with your wrists to get it to shoot level, which can get uncomfortable…

A replayable, short, fast-paced and challenging singleplayer fps maze escape game with stealth elements and claustrophobic flat randomized maps. And a countdown timer. System Escape can be won in under 10 minutes, but it is permadeath if anything zaps you exactly once. It took me quite a while for my first victory. There are 3 difficulty settings. There is no progression between runs other than a victory scoreboard. Overall, the difficulty makes the patrolling minimalistic enemy guard robots seem very threatening, and exciting to flee from, especially when you're running out of time. Good for quick play sessions because the max possible time of a playthough is like 20 minutes, and runs will usually be over much faster than that. I have played System Escape since the first alpha. SPOILERS/WALKTHROUGH/TIPS BELOW Primary objectives when you start a new game - 1) Follow the arrow to the Utility Gun. It comes pre-equipped with a single-use Guide, which points you to your next objective. Reload your Utility Gun with ammo spread across the levels (represented by boxes on tables). 2) Find the Unlock Computer. Use it to instantly unlock all locked doors on the current level…
