About Overloop

Step into an ethically compromised future where cloning technology has wreaked havoc on humanity – and it’s sort of all YOUR fault! As an employee of nefarious megacorp, Infinity Inc., and the inventor of its Quantic Matter Replication Device (aka the QMRD, aka the cause of the world going to hell in a handbasket), it’s up to you to sort out the mess you helped create.

Grab your cloning gun and hot-foot it through a world descending into clone-induced chaos. Create clones of yourself and use them to solve puzzles and save humanity. Get to it genius!

Features

  • Create clones! Make endless copies of yourself with the cloning gun and use your perfectly formed doppelgangers – up to four at once – to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles
  • Sacrifice clones! Dystopias are very dangerous places, and many clones will suffer hilariously gruesome deaths along the way. Fried! Crushed! Mangled! Minced! RIP clones :(
  • Explore a world of weirdness! From suspiciously friendly AI and cultish crackpots, to modified corn and cloned panda bears. This freaky future has (almost) everything!
  • Think about ethics! Is it better that a clone should die, rather than the real you? Consider the morality of human cloning as you condemn countless versions of yourself to death
  • Have a mustache! Play as a hero with sweet facial hair. Purely cosmetic. Totally badass

✦ AI summary

Players praise Overloop as a creative and entertaining puzzle-platformer with an engaging self-cloning mechanic and a meaningful environmental message that resonates emotionally. However, many note the game is quite short and lacks significant difficulty, making it best suited as a quick few-hour experience that works well at a discounted price rather than at full cost.

Really smart puzzle-platformer where the entire loop revolves around sacrificing clones of yourself. You'll be dropping clones onto spikes to make bridges, using them to weigh down pressure plates, or blasting them into lasers to clear a path. The game introduces new stage hazards at a perfect pace, and it never overstays its welcome. Short, tight, and highly recommended.

A great short game (3hr to 100%, leisurely pace). The cloning mechanic works well. Had to get used to the keyboard keys(!) as I don't have a controller. Great story. Well worth it if you like platformer puzzles mixed with an interesting story.

Overloop is a tightly designed 2D puzzle-platformer that takes a deceptively simple mechanic—self-cloning—and builds an entire dystopian adventure around it. Developed by Charge Games and published on Steam by Digerati and Doyoyo Games, the title places players in the boots of an eccentric inventor whose own cloning technology has spiraled out of control. What begins as a clever industrial breakthrough becomes a societal catastrophe, and the game leans into that absurdity with a satirical tone that consistently balances dark sci-fi themes with playful humor. From its opening moments, Overloop establishes itself as both a thoughtful puzzle experience and a lighthearted commentary on corporate ambition gone wrong. At the heart of the gameplay is the Quantic Matter Replication Device, a cloning gun that allows the protagonist to create up to several duplicates of himself at any time. These clones are not AI companions in the traditional sense; they are expendable tools. The player must carefully position, sacrifice, and coordinate them to navigate environmental hazards, activate switches, weigh down platforms, and bypass traps. What makes this mechanic compelling is how the game grad…
