PACTUM + EPISODE 1

"PACTUM + EPISODE 1" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Pactum" (I assume that's the intended name for the product this is advertising). Pactum is a product that doesn't even exist, and given how long it's been since this advertisement was placed on Steam (and ignored by almost everyone), it's unlikely the full product will ever arise. But if it does, you'd find it's a garbage Ren'Py kitbash with some crappy pixel art, part text adventure and mostly badly written Choose Your Own Adventure fanfiction writing. And, as usual with all these fanfiction Ren'Py e-books infesting Steam as if they're real games (I maintain that books are not games), the cringey writing is so bad it's almost weaponised. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Pactum, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. A thrilling, story based game employing multiple artistics styles which work well to build the setting at various points. The game is wonderfully creative, allowing the player to play through different character story arcs, interlinked with one another. Dialogue sees subtle changes between characters in a way that adds to the mystery in the game. Additionally, the game utilises a narrative style unlike most others, having the narrator not just comment on events objectively, but making their own opinions about player choices. Super interesting, and definitely worth checking out for the time investment required and it's ✨free✨ I look forward to further installments.

Really good with a lot of potential, i just feel like more things could be said together rather than separately there's a lot of dialogue coming from the author and it takes away from the story. Ofc this is only my opinion others may find that more interesting.

I'm....intrigued? really should've been a demo listing instead of a game listing but otherwise interesting game. doubt its getting fleshed out further though as its been 3 years since release with exactly zero updates. so yeah. Neat story for what there is though

Its really good and i would love an episode 2. This story horror game is super underrated.
