About Particulitix

An arcade roguelite where positioning beats firepower. Build absurdly powerful runs through rule-breaking upgrades.I started Particulitix as a particle-graphics experiment that grew into the arcade roguelite I wanted to play.
  • Position smart around playfield zones that shape every fight
  • Stack run-specific arsenals from dozens of upgrade combinations
  • Carry permanent character upgrades between runs
Choose Your StyleYour weapon choice defines your gameplay. Each weapon has its own fire pattern, range, special effect, and aim style. Some require manual aim for classic, high-control twin-stick shooting. Others aim automatically, letting you focus on movement and positioning.Manual-aim weapons can be toggled to auto-aim if you prefer. Auto-shoot is a separate toggle, mixable with any weapon.Find Your BuildCombine dozens of upgrades into builds that probably shouldn't exist. Here are just a few examples:
  • Spicy bounce: Each time a bullet bounces, its damage is doubled. If you have fragments or DoTs they keep this boost.
  • Laser: 8x damage, but capped at 8 active at a time. Combines with fragments for chain effects.
  • Mimic: Your ship mimics the appearance of the enemies chasing you. They won't chase you unless you fire. Shooting breaks the disguise for a short time.
Positioning Is PowerThe playfield isn't a backdrop. Where you stand changes every fight.
  • XP doesn't come to you. You have to risk your position to grab it. Timing your pickups around special zones can turn a dangerous move into a massive advantage.
  • Temporary zones appear across the screen, offering powerful situational bonuses. Exploiting them at the right moment is often the key to victory.
  • Builds don't just stack numbers. They change how you play the space. Upgrades interact with movement, positioning, and timing.
The best players don't shoot more, they stand better.Built Without TexturesEvery visual in Particulitix is generated in code. No sprites, no texture atlases. The reason is simple: I can't draw, so the whole game is math and particles, drawn fresh every frame.A Note From the DevSolo dev based in Normandy. The project ran away from me a few times along the way, but I'm shipping it the way I want to play it.If you want to help shape the game, drop into the Discord. Ok, if this game was in an arcade cab in the 80's, we'd still be talking about it. I love the feel on this game. Playstyle reminds me a lot of games like Berzerk, Robotron 2084, or Smash TV. A good old classic arena bullet-dodger, with just that sweet spot frenetic feel to it. You always have that feel where you're JUUUUUST behind the power curve, and victory feels like it's so close. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't, and it's got me coming back for more plays. There's a lot more depth than what's on the surface, with a nice upgrade system. But it doesn't hold you hand. It rewards paying attention and deciphering the mechanics. Very much worth the price.

I don't often try games I'm not confident I'll like, and this game isn't my genre, but I took a chance on it and it turns out it's rather easy to get into. I also appreciate the design philosophy of letting the player be overpowered - even though there are a couple upgrades that give absurd damage (excessive speed damage scaling is probably a bug,) you can just not pick those. AI music is on by default, and I'm not a fan of that, but you can just go into options and switch it off, getting perfectly valid (presumably stock) music instead. The gameplay itself reminds me of back when I played diep.io, in a good way. It's fun to discover combinations that synergize. I enjoyed it. Easy 2 hours of playtime if you don't want to get into it too deep, but you could probably go a good deal further if you want to try a lot of different builds or get all the permanent upgrades. I see some reviews talking about it being worth the price. I agree, of course. We live in a society where big publisher games push past $70 but indie games have to justify costing $6.

Great fun arcade style game. Aesthetics are awesome and gameplay is really good. The upgrades are fun, but don't seem balanced, The downside for this game is the menuing, so many boxes and information thrown in your face. Great game worth the price point.

This is the good stuff. I remember spending unhealthy amounts of time playing Geometry Wars back in the day and since then, nothing really had scratched that particular itch for me. Well, this game absolutely does. The rogue lite elements are superbly crafted, the action is crazy good, I love the non-AI music. Being able to customize the color schemes is another really nice touch. I am impressed, I am enjoying myself. The price is very reasonable. What's not to like?!

Particulitix is a good game made by a passionate developer, and that passion shines through in the design. The level structure is simple, but the node-based progression makes each run feel grounded and meaningful. It adds an extra layer of decision-making that sets it apart from the typical strafing techniques found in many other bullet heaven games. Movement becomes its own challenge, and planning your route is just as important as surviving the chaos on screen. Visually, the game embraces simplicity. Instead of chasing flashy graphics, the developer uses that simplicity to his advantage. The game is still pleasant to look at, while the focus remains firmly on gameplay and the systems that make each run engaging. That said, I highly recommend enabling the arrow option that follows your ship. As enemy density ramps up in later levels, it can become difficult to keep track of your character, and the arrow makes a huge difference. Another thing I really appreciated is the pacing. The runs are shorter than what you might expect from games like Vampire Survivors, and I think that works to Particulitix's benefit. It is the perfect time-filler game. Sitting in the doctor's office wait…
