✦ AI summary

Players praise this jigsaw puzzle game for its relaxing atmosphere, beautiful hand-drawn art and cutscenes with philosophical storytelling, and quality music that enhances the meditative experience. The main complaint involves awkward puzzle piece controls requiring interaction at the top rather than the center, though some players also noted the reset button was initially positioned too prominently risking accidental data loss, which the developer has since fixed with a confirmation screen.

Pastime game, puzzle, relaxing, physical theme. As soon as you enter the game you will find yourself in front of 5 papyri: 1 The flag 2 Heaven and hell 3 Happy fish 4 The clap 5 The taste melon Choose the first one and you will see the first puzzle to reassemble, you can choose how many pieces to break it down, from 25 up to a maximum of 325, you can zoom in on your table to enlarge with the mouse wheel. Above there are 4 available aids: 1 save-quit, 2 reset puzzle, 3 shuffle puzle, 4 backgrond image. When you have finished the first drawing of each papyrus, a movie will start with beautiful hand-made drawings where you can watch short stories of the small pearls of oriental wisdom You can also light the candle if you want to create a warmer and brighter atmosphere. The music is very relaxing in theme with the game, it is pleasant to hear while you work on the puzzles. When you open the papyri there are other figures to do just click on the left and you will see arrows slide left or right, while to return to the menu use the right click mause As an idea I find it nice to combine oriental wisdom with puzzles, I recommend that you complete them all in any difficulty you want becaus…
A sense of progression
Philosophical Jigsaw was gifted to me by the developer, even after I gave their last title a negative review for . https://store.steampowered.com/app/1880640/A_Butterflys_Dream/ But if you play that now, you will notice another positive review. Because the developer fixed the issues in that game, quickly. And has learned to create a really fun game this time around, Philo Games are on a mission. Everything about the Jigsaw game is slightly better.
Positives

Relaxing. Even if you look for the speedrun route, you still have 6 hours of playtime fun ahead of you on your first play.
Awesome cutscenes play when you complete the first puzzle in each of 5 Koans
Better music. I'm not sure why, but the backing music track selection or perhaps the way the music is mixed, works better while 'Jigsaw assembling' than the music did in 'A Butterflies Dream'.
Exploration : You start, and in front of you is a candle, so you double-click on it just to see what happens, and this simple hint to just explore "what happens if" continues throughout the game, leading you onwards.
Autosave : The game autosaves your puzzle progress.
So I…

This is a fine jigsaw sim with nice graphics and an original theme. BUGBEAR ALERT! The reset button is huge, in the way, and a danger to tired clickers. Save and quit often is my advice, or lose all in an instant. Movement and placement of pieces is really good, with a helpful mouse scroll whilst holding. I will attempt completion another time, one eye on the reset - how about moving it to lower down on the attractive room graphics, out of the way ? Here's hoping. >>> Next Day - Superb dev response: reset button now has a double check screen. This removes the possibility of accidentally losing hours of work. I'll attempt a 300 piece meditation this evening. This is an impressive and original jigsaw app that plays really well. Cheers @ philogames

This is a puzzle game, however it is so much more than just a puzzle game. Each "series" of puzzles has it's own story and by completing the story, you unlock the garden (options menu then open the door in the middle). The art style and graphics are amazing and you can see how much effort has been added to this game. The music and sound effects are also great. The music is so relaxing and might just make you sleepy. The only issue I did have is the movement of the puzzle piece as you need to pick up the pieces at the top and not in the middle. Still a really awesome take on a puzzle game.
