About Planet Alcatraz
Planet Alcatraz is a 3D role playing game with isometric projection. The player travels through the game world and fights against enemies in the real-time mode. In a general sense Planet Alcatraz can be portrayed as a non-linear adventure with lots of shooting. Several genres are mixed in this game but despite that fact it isn't stuck between them and appears to be a classical RPG that is based on a specially developed system.
The action takes place on prison planet Alcatraz. Its inhabitants are inveterate criminals that were banished there for the life term for their terrible crimes. The main objective of the game is to control a sabotage group that consists of the only one person in the beginning and enlarges through the game. The player has to use all sorts of resources and means to accomplish the mission.

Planet Alcatraz (2006) is a RPG game with a system resembling Fallout but mostly seems combat oriented. There is no speech / persuade skills other than a vague attitude stat. You collect items, complete quests, gain xp and level up. There are multiple paths and choices and consequences. It was mentioned having bad translation, and some bugs, playing many many old games, I thought I was ready for those. However, it was worse than I expected. Playing a game this old, graphics are no concern so only thing left is gameplay, setting, writing etc. But when you can't understand even the text, it really bothers it seems, a first for me too. +Setting: Although it gaves a good impression of world building, you can't learn about it - at least in english version- because of too messy dialogue. If it was proper english it could have been a solid +++ plus. --Gameplay: On top of that, character runs too slow even on always run, movements are janky, combat should have been turn based. There are some good ideas like aiming, reloading, switching weapons. But you can eat 300 potatoes while fighting and it heals. Game didn't decided to be realistic or not it seems. Racist, sexist anti-PC crap from a Putinite Z bot. It's painful because it's decent as a slavjank Fallout clone, but the egregious anti-PC contents make it unbearable. I just can't get through this. It doesn't help that the start of the game is quite slow, with the main character running errands in prison. The racism only gets worse. Doesn't seem like there is any option to play the role of someone who is not a bald military man, happily crushing a rebellion for the interplanetary Russian empire. This is like sci-fi Tyranny made by someone who actually supports the evil tyrant in real life. Great game, very funny! See the community page for the instructions for how to install the game patch that fixes a lot of bugs and stuttering. The game doesn't work without the fix but once applied, it runs pretty smoothly. If you're interested in the Russian version, change the language in the steam game settings which will install a separate game version and then go to the community page and install the Russian game fix to run on modern computers. Enjoy!
