Portal with RTX is a free DLC for all Portal owners developed by NVIDIA Lightspeed Studios. In Portal with RTX, full ray tracing transforms each level, enabling light to bounce and be affected by the scene’s geometry and materials. Every light is ray-traced and casts shadows, global illumination indirect lighting naturally illuminates and darkens rooms, volumetric ray-traced lighting scatters through fog and smoke, and shadows are pixel perfect. The addition of RTX Neural Radiance Cache also enhances the quality of ray-traced indirect lighting, while improving performance resulting in a more accurate and responsive lighting model. Portal with RTX is compatible with all ray-tracing capable GPUs.

The original Portal is one of my Favorite shorter games of all time. So being able to play it now with modern lighting ,shadows and improved textures is just a great experience that ran really well. Overall if you have the PC capable, I Def Recommend.5 found this helpful
Even with RTX settings set to as low as possible, the game is just a laggy/buggy mess. I had to fight to get past one of the challenge maps before my game would just give up and crash on that one map. Absolutely not worth, just play the original as it was intended.

real stress test
okay now i do have to say it is cool seeing some new stuff for portal every once in a while but i really hate the perfomance of the game here atleast for my system it doesnt look good with dlss and without you get like 10 frames a secound also please turn of ray reconstruction it makes it look even worse when u have dlss on. Me as a huge portal fan i do recomend trying it out if u have a good pc with something like a 4080 or higher bellow do not i dont recommend it from my perspective and my specs.
There's a few noticable visual bugs (e.g. The timer font in the final room isn't scaled correctly, the ASCII art in the ending song isn't scaled correctly, etc.) but overall it's a pretty good visual upgrade if you have the hardware to run it. If you have a 40 series card then don't expect much, but if you have a 50 series card, then yeah, absolutely give it a shot, it's just Portal with a fresh coat of paint.
