Play this game solo or against players from all over the world with Solo, Online and Local Pass & Play modes!
In Potion Explosion, you will explode ingredients, trigger chain reactions and gather it all in your caldron. You will then use your hard-earned unicorn tears, fairy dandruff and whatnot to craft powerful mixtures with wacky effects! May the best wizard win!
HOW TO PLAY
At the beginning of the game, each player is given potions to complete with specific effects and ingredients. You will have to select ingredients in the dispenser; once your selected ingredient is removed, the ingredients above will slide down. If two ingredients of the same nature collide, they explode and you get them too! You can then use your ingredients to cook up your potions. You only have a limited tank space to store remaining ingredients from one turn to another, so choose carefully! Once a potion is completed, you score points, get to use its powerful effect and pick another potion to craft. The wizard with the most points wins!

Potion Explosion offers satisfying match-3 style gameplay with easy-to-learn mechanics that still require strategic thinking, and players enjoy the cascade effects and local multiplayer experience. However, some players encountered technical issues at launch, and the core system, while fun, is relatively simple despite the cascading abilities that add depth. Overall, it's recommended as a solid digital adaptation of the board game that works well for casual and competitive play alike.
Potion Explosion is fun because when you take one marble and a bunch of others explode, it’s really satisfying to watch. It’s pretty easy to learn, but you still have to think about which marble will make the best combo. It’s also fun to play with friends because big explosions can happen and everyone gets excited.
Potion Explosion completely broke (miscalculated interactions and the tutorial somehow had invalid options) when I first tried it. However, after some repairs and troubleshooting, I can see why people like the boardgame. There are elements from match-3 games, but the implementation is limited: You select and remove 1 marble from 1 track each turn and, if marbles of the same color collide as a result, you'll get the extra marbles. There's also an ability to pay points to get a free marble, which is a much stronger ability than you'd think. The result is a fairly basic system that cascades as you complete potions with your marbles that provide yet more abilities. Assuming Potion Explosion will also work for you, after you repair and reboot the game, I can recommend it. The cascade of options is basic but can be addicting, even if the results are never as vibrantly explosive as a true match-3 game like Bejewled.

Quite cute digital version of the board game. Ideal to play with one or two more players locally, great fun for kids too.
I've played dozens of games on my own and dozens with my friend. The online play is not flawless, but it's an interesting optimization game with just the right amount of luck and unique mechanics.
