Bring an ancient world to vibrant life as you build and protect a fledgling settlement! Although you are a stranger who has no memory of your life before the day you arrived at a small village in the midst of a vast and untamed wilderness, you are nonetheless a brave and kind soul willing to tackle the challenge of safeguarding a small tribe and guiding them to a better life. Through your training, you will become a skilled builder able to raise small cities out of the ground, and a staunch warrior who can fend off the fiercest dinosaurs!
As you tend to your budding civilization - managing your resources well so you can feed and house the villagers - missions will appear on the screen, challenging you to undertake such tasks as clearing a cave of dinosaurs or defending the settlers from an invading army. There will never be a dull moment as you spend hours enjoying addictive gameplay, colorful visuals, and ear-pleasing music and sound effects. Interesting little game... for a few hours. Then it becomes a tedious micro-management grind. Once you get your village up to a good size, it takes up most of your time just clicking all over the place to gather resources. With so much clicking going on, it's hard to plan how to expand your village, think about how best to increase your army, or decide which artifacts would be most efficient to wear. The game has both achievements and trading cards. The achievements are all simple to get, and all unmissable as they pop naturally as you play. You simply have to put in the time playing. It should probably take you about 6 to 8 hours to get all the achievements, and once you have them there's really no point in playing any more. Graphics are cartoonish, but yet appealing. Background music is pleasant and relaxing. Combat is turn-based, and on a small grid. Once you get the dragon unit ([i]called "ancient snake" here[/i]), combat becomes awkward because the dragon takes up four spaces and is thus often blocked from moving by either geograpical limitations ([i]like boulders or trees[/i]) or by your other units. Fun game... but once you reach level 99 it no longer lets you win battles, so don't make the same mistake I did if you want all of the achievements ;)
Recommended. Cute graphics, low stress city building, turn based combat and a simple story keep things interesting. It does lack depth and most of city building feels shallow. It's pretty short lived too, but for the price, it's worth it if you like casual games.
Masterpiece of an emotional story, seeing my huts be built like they were on the hill. I've always been curious about the origins of our greatest financier, this helped me realise my dream.
