Prehistorik is a classic side-scrolling platformer developed by Titus Interactive and published on Steam by Interplay Entertainment Corp., offering a direct window into the design philosophy of early 1990s PC games. Originally released in 1991, the game has been preserved largely as it was, making it less a modern reinterpretation and more a faithful archival experience. It places the player in control of a ravenous caveman from the T-Bone Tribe whose only real motivation is survival through constant eating, a premise that is simple, humorous, and perfectly suited to the straightforward arcade sensibilities of its era. The game’s narrative is intentionally minimal, relying on visual comedy and implied context rather than dialogue or exposition. Your caveman hero journeys through a variety of prehistoric environments in search of food, using his oversized club to defeat enemies, break obstacles, and protect himself from the many dangers lurking across each stage. Health and survival are directly tied to consumption, making food pickups a core mechanic rather than a secondary collectible. This creates a tight gameplay loop where every enemy defeated and every risky jump is ultimatel…

A nostalgic game from the 90s childhood. Just don't die, because you can't save the game and then you start all over.

A gem from my childhood that was nicely preserved and made available for modern hardware. I honestly thought that it would be much easier now that I'm an adult...but this game is still hard as hell xD The controls are stiff and unresponsive, the hit boxes feel unfair...but I can't bring myself to hate this game and its arcade-y gameplay style. Shame they didn't add achievements.
