About Primordium - Day Zero

DISCLAIMER:

When I created this game, my intention was to deliver a sci-fi themed sandbox RPG that would eventually grow into a space sim. Based on initial feedback and requests, I have decided to add new features to give you more content while I finish the seasons. These features include multiplayer content, a campaign, different scenarios/game modes, and various miscellaneous features such as abilities, mini-games, and audio playlists. The status of these features will be visible on the community page. These features should be considered as early access features. The sandbox (found in the scenarios menu by selecting the party games tab and choosing the sandbox game mode) is where most of the stable features will be found. This will still be continually updated, but my focus is on fixing stability issues with the requested features. Please consider this before purchasing the game.

THE STORY

Millions of years in the past, there was a civilization known as The Maria fighting for survival on a small planet orbiting a star in the Milky Way Galaxy.
One day, a small team was excavating the dunes near the solar system's largest volcano and an artifact was uncovered.
The artifact led them to a crash site, where an ancient vessel was uncovered, but the message bore a warning written in an unknown dialect.
Their attempts to translate it bore a warning, stating that a series of solar flares would strike the planet, eliminating any life that called the planet home.
In decades, their planet would be reduced to a barren wasteland as solar winds stripped their withering atmosphere.
In an attempt to save their species, The Oculus was developed and with it, The Anima was born.
Acting as a virtual hub allowing The Maria to tap into their Unity Network, the Oculus was key to their survival as they traveled to the Homeworld.
The Anima would then give birth to millions of artificial bodies that The Maria could control as they explored treacherous new worlds on their journey.
Using materials from one of their planets three moons, they constructed a mobile platform that would act as their colony ship.
Unfortunately, there were those who saw the destruction of the moon as unnecessary.
Political parties and religious groups began to form, and The Marian Empire was fractured with threats of secession and civil war.
In an attempt to maintain peace, The Nexus Defense Force was created.
You have just been promoted to Commander of The Nexus Defense Force.
It is your duty to gather intel, reinforce The Nexus' defenses, coordinate strike teams, and fight any insurgent forces that might rise up.
Get ready to build your team and fight to maintain peace on The Nexus!
Introduction
Primordium - Day Zero has been in Early Access on Steam now for about seven months, starting out as Day Zero - Build, Craft, Survive, going silent for a few months, and then receiving a very large update recently with its name change. I initially began this review back in February, I think, but the game was basically unplayable. I had UI issues that required alt-tab and killing the program to fix, crashes, and various other issues that caused me to give up on it then. Given that another update was due soon after, I waited for that before trying again. Now that update has arrived, I'm not really sure what sort of game it's trying to be anymore. It's changed significantly from its survival-crafting roots and currently seems to be more of a quest-based shooter, but it could be that that's all I've been able to see of the game. It's still basically unplayable, you see. Very Bugged , movement is horrible feels like walking on ice sliding along , tried the first mission and ended up falling through floor then I respawned in middle of 5 things and died I say things because it was so dark I couldn't see . I really can't say anything positive just now about the game and that is after the latest Huge update . NOT RECOMMENDED . Tried playing sandbox as developer says , game is still horrible graphics hurt your eyes and I tried every setting . I still do not think this game is worth buying maybe in a few years time .

guys it's unreal engine's fault the game is bad since it isn't designed for a game so ambitious *loads the entirety of a massive "open world" map in and renders all of it at once at highest detail*

Primordium - Day Zero is an abandoned early access survival shooter with a science fiction theme. The developer abandoned the game in an unfinished state but has left it on Steam. The game cannot realistically be played or enjoyed in any manner, so it's not worth downloading. This will never be completed and should be removed from Steam, as it's polluting the marketplace. It's game autopsy time! The primary problem here is that this seems to have been an attempt at a game from a small/single person studio. Developing a game without adequate budget, staff and talent is a lot like driving a car using only your feet. It's theoretically possible, but realisitcally it's going to end in disaster. To support this theory with evidence, I'll provide Exhibit A: Primordium - Day Zero. Without adequate budget, talent and staff, the game was simply impossible to complete and has been abandoned.

I like the hard core of the game, but the optimization and completeness of the production are not enough. After reading the message, I hope the author can achieve success in his next game.
