While the concept of a 'realistic and serious' zombie shooter is a good, tried and true idea for virtual reality games, I can't recommend this game when the main idea of handling a firearm accurately and realistically in this game is having to manually fiddle and drop a magazine on a table to get it at the slightly jaunted angle needed to slide it into the magazine well while you're being spat and chewed on. In addition, the overall movement scheme is controller-based locomotion, with no ability to change these settings whatsoever, there's not even a settings menu to lower sound effects, or increase the smooth turning speed, being left at a slow-motion turn when you need it most. I can understand a game being easy to play, and hard to master, but this game seems to follow the trend of being difficult for the sake of being difficult and even clunky. In addition, even with a 3060 ROG gaming laptop that runs every other VR title at a smooth, and crisp 90 frames, this game suffers from stutters at the slightest turn of a corner, and the gore effects while absolutely stunning and visceral, seem to play a heavy hand in the loss of performance. So unfortunately, Putridness VR to me wil…4 found this helpful
OK so first off, judging by other reviews there has always been a issue with this game on index, which I can say they have tried to improve which i actually respect the effort but it aint there yet. issues i experienced were mostly with grabbing things and the backpack system. to start off: you need to have a 100% grip all the time or you drop everything... including your gun. second if you are moving quick and accidentally or intentionally grab something you likely threw it through the floor rendering it useless as unreachable. third tho i like the ability to grab a gun on the ground anywhere along the body, a slide based pistol you could accidentally rapid chamber a entire mag picking it up from the slide. you can also grab a round out of a mag your picking up. finally: its a lil hard to put stuff in slots at times or know where to grab to pull a item out of said slot. the ring does change colors to help with this but finding it is harder. THAT BEING SAID: if those issues were fixed id actually play this game. rn 5/102 found this helpful
Alright, this is one of those games that I happened to stumble upon and see some form of potential for it. It also happened to be on sale so of course i bought it and played it. There is an over abundance of problems, but I'll just start with what's entirely in game for now. The first Problem is the complete lack of settings and options for gameplay, movement, and graphics. It's a game that only supports controller based movement which means that it's incredibly disorienting to try and move around at first. Besides that, no audio options? The music is great for ambiance but takes away from the "realistic" style the dev is claiming to go for, on top of the music/ambiance only serving to artificially heighten the tension. As for the gameplay itself, it feels like a bunch of half baked ideas put together. The "pockets" where you can place your items and weapons are horrible to use, usually resulting in the item I try to place in them not registering and falling on the ground at inopportune times, and then couple that with the pockets jumping around trying to follow your character's forward face means that you can't even grab what you're reaching for half the time unless you angle yo…1 found this helpful
the game is nice and all. I can see it appealing to people who like gore and stuff but not my cup of tea.1 found this helpful
controls are ♥♥♥♥ and the optimization is horrible. Couldn't open any doors or figure out how to open the menu
wasnt very immersed and feels very unfinished, the game isnt very straight forward so you are lost when you first enter. the games gun play is VERY jank you cant aim properly
