Puzzle Dating is, well, not a dating game, it's a dating themed minimalist match 3 that makes Candy Crush look like a software engineering masterpiece to rival Skyrim. All you do is match three or more blocks of the same colour to work towards a goal. You have a limited set of moves and you can shift rows of blocks in any direction by tapping on your iPhone screen. Well, that's presumably what the developer intended for this garbage, but it's apparently never hit the app stores it was designed for. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC …

Puzzle Dating, developed by M. Hanka and published by Liu Lidan, is a casual hybrid that combines simple puzzle mechanics with a light dating simulation framework. It presents itself as an easygoing, low-commitment experience, built for players who want something straightforward and relaxing rather than deep or mechanically demanding. From the outset, it’s clear that the game is designed around accessibility, offering a familiar loop that doesn’t require much time or effort to understand. The core gameplay centers on basic puzzle interactions, typically involving matching or arranging elements on a grid to achieve specific objectives. These segments are simple and intuitive, with controls that are easy to grasp even for newcomers. Completing puzzles advances the game’s progression, unlocking short dialogue sequences and interactions with characters. This structure creates a rhythm where gameplay alternates with narrative moments, giving the sense of moving forward even if neither aspect is particularly complex on its own. Visually, the game adopts a bright and clean presentation that complements its casual tone. Character designs are straightforward and readable, while the interf…
Somewhat Fun and Relaxing
Puzzle Dating is a match 3 style game where, well, you date people. The goal in each level, or date is to match a certain number of red, green and yellow blocks, the number for each colour changes, so sometimes you'll need more red, or more yellow than green, for example. You are also able to shift the blocks in each row and column to create bigger matches. A nice feature is that matches of four or more create tiles that grant you more moves when used in a match. The game can be quite luck dependent, sometimes providing you with a board that has no good matches. But other than that, I like this short, simple match 3 game. I'll give it the thumbs up for its cheapness and simplicity.

I'd assume most people are just buying this cheap game for achievements, I was actually enjoying the puzzle aspect until I realized how extremely unfair and RNG that the game is. I've been playing Match 3 type games for years and years and to have achievements tied to winning 9 maps in a row when you're regularly given just TERRIBLE map layouts and not enough moves to "win" the date is stupid. It's like a really really terrible match 3 hentai game but 10x harder and with no saucy content, the "dating" aspect is totally surface level. Not to mention, I can't even leave the game and try to restart the date, so if you get a bad map good luck winning 9 maps in a row. Games with AWFUL rng achievements deserve to get called out in my opinion, I can't really seem to win more than 2-3 dates in a row. Gems of War is FREE and is better than this, skip even on sale.

Nice aesthetics and fun. 100% completion in less than an hour. (The secret to the most difficult achievement is the Smiley/Humor tile; try to prioritize making matches of 5 or more.) I liked it. :)
