Quantum Void

i stumbled across this game the day it released on PC while browsing for metroidvanias. i can confidently say i have not been disappointed in the slightest. the story is very good, gameplay and mechanics are also good, and the soundtrack is amazing. to give an idea of what the game is like, it helps to scratch that Outer Wilds itch. story: gripping and intriguing. (mild spoilers) [spoiler] i like how the game kinda rewards you for having a mild understanding of quantum physics, yet you can understand what's happening perfectly if you don't [/spoiler]. gameplay: the game perfectly delivers on the atmosphere and vibes it's striving for, and the horror aspect is there but not overpowering. while there are some slower sections that can feel a bit...boring, they're always spent doing [i] something[/i]: finding something, reading something, etc etc...mechanics are also good. although i will say the flashlight feels a little useless due to how well lit most areas are, but that's really the only critique i have soundtrack: i don't need to say much, 10/10; it matches the environments very well and imo it's almost on-par with soundtracks found in [i] MIO: Memories in Orbit [/i] and [i] O…

This is the best VR game ever made, can't recommend this game enough it's god tier

one of the best environment story telling ever. the gameplay and the ship movement is 10\10. the only thing that made me stop playing this masterpiece was the battery running low.

It is an extremely compelling story and visuals and feels like Alien. Honestly i was scared for the flat screen version as i loved it in vr but i can say it is brilliant

Just finished a playthrough with the full completion ending in VR & on Linux. Fun thrilling space mystery, mostly a puzzley, adventure, exploration vibe with occasional bouts of combat, very similar to Red Matter 2 but with much better gunplay. Creepy, but as someone not into horror games, it was fine - definitely makes you cautious when exploring new sections but I think there were only like 2 actually startling moments during the game, it's more the immersive atmosphere & isolation slowly building tension. Story kept me engaged, graphics were nice and immersive, performance was smooth, sound design really pulls you into the actions and makes you feel "in" the space, environment felt curated with a consistent "nasa-punk" style. Played with GE-Proton11, BSB2e, Index Controllers, & Monado.

Don't sleep on this one, the game looks and plays great and the details are amazing hard to believe a single dev could pull off what a big team team can't get right, VR interactions and immersion. Simple things like typing on the keyboards added so much immersion. I am around 7 hours in and not even near completing this (your mileage may vary, I'm taking my time) I just love exploring and finding everything, reading the emails and piecing together the story and flying through space at warp speed. The world, the ship and the environment are amazing and realistic I feel like I am there, the controls work great, the game runs great, I am engrossed in the story, the puzzles are engaging and don't feel to difficult or too easy. If you like games like Red Matter you will love this.
