Void Stranger

On my first attempt to complete the game I gave up a couple hours in and got fed up Only now almost a year later I was able to brace myself and finished my first run which then looped into me not being able to put the game down till I finished it (ok there is still more but I feel comfortable now to write a review) The puzzle design is quite challenging but every bit of progress and every piece knowledge gained feels super rewarding (when you finally hit that klick noise in your brain) The story just is a perfect mix hitting alot of different emotions (I especially liked the lost souls interactions) The OST was great at setting the tone of the different areas and story Beeats (inflicting pure dread or joy depending on the circumstances) Bee prepared to take lots of notes

this game is amazing for reasons i cannot stop, but it makes me want to fight the finnish. good game take the plunge, it will brainrot you

It doesnt look like a metroidvania but you learn shortcuts and tricks rather than get tool upgrades. The closest game I can compare it to is Animal Well. When you think you're done, there's another layer.

Void Stranger is a lovely, challenging puzzle game which makes its emotional narrative beats feel incredibly well earned. The in-game puzzles are tough and frustrating at times, but they are all fair. If it stayed true to its intense puzzle mechanics throughout the entire game, I would have no complaints with it. Either way, I wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone interested in puzzle games with a narrative reward.
