Quell Zen

This is the latest part of the Quell games. The game mechanics have been modified. You no longer have to collect drops of water only. Now you need to line up sweets or change the color of light bulbs, for example. I like it!

Great and nice looking puzzle game. A lot of level and great theme on this version too. 7/10

I'm going to be completely honest, I didn't like this entry as much as I did compared to the rest of the Quell series. Now, that doesn't mean that this is a bad game. If anything, it is still a good game, with challenging puzzles set in a relaxing environment; the overarching story is a rather bittersweet one as well, something I can personally relate to. Though the story was more of a background piece like the previous Quell games, it is still something that I looked forward to when I finished a set of levels. That said, I think the reason I didn't like this game as much is because this is the fourth game in the series now. A lot of the levels felt deeply repetitive, and it reached the point where I wasn't enjoying myself with the puzzles. Additionally, Quell: Memento felt like a good "end" to the story, with Zen feeling extraneous compared to the set trilogy before it. Of course, this is all personal opinion, having played through all four games back to back. Regardless of my personal feelings, I still recommend this game for those who want to play simple yet challenging puzzles while experiencing a touching story. Quell Zen is a truly meditative experience. The puzzles are clever, requiring thought without causing frustration, and the art and music create a wonderfully serene atmosphere. Each level feels like its own little world, with new mechanics introduced gradually to keep things interesting. This game is perfect for when you want to relax and still engage your mind. Highly recommended for fans of peaceful puzzle games.
