Essentailly plays like phase wars. Drag and drop roots to suck nutrients from evil tree like structures. Boring to play and waste of time.
4 found this helpful
R.O.O.T.S is a ripoff of an old mobile app called "Galcom". It's a game of clicking on nodes (planets in the case of Galcom, bubbles in this case) to send fleets (or tree roots, apparently) to take over the nodes. The node will flip to the side which has the most push. This mobile tier garbage is worse than the ones you can play on mobile for free, so I can't really recommend people should pay money for it.2 found this helpful

I initially liked this game a lot. But now, after playing almost playing all levels, I cannot recommend it. The experience is extremely inconsistent. There are levels where you'll have a bigger planet and manage to hold 2-3 connections from smaller planets and you yourself will easily take enemy planets with only 1 connections, and on the other hand there are levels where the enemy's one connections beats 2-3 from you. Another big problem is the AI. The developer has videos for "problematic" levels, however there is a small issue: once you see the videos you'll realize that your experience is nothing like the one shown there. Level 13 is a good example of that, but I managed to beat it without using the video. However, level 35 is the cherry on top. It's absolutely, 100%, undeniably IMPOSSIBLE. The developer, of course, has a video for this as well. However, in his video, not only isn't the AI as aggressive as it is in the actual game, but the big planet can actually use the wormholes to capture planets from the backline. YOU CAN'T DO THAT. Even if no enemy planet helps the one you are attacking, it is IMPOSSIBLE to capture it. You'll end up in a stalemate best case scenario.…
It saddens me to say R.O.O.T.S is a game I can't recommend due to level design being questionable. I love the style and neon colours as I find them relaxing. However, the only real input in a few of the levels seems to be a matter of how fast you click which I find to be a poor design. It isn't strategy but instead a matter of clicking faster than the AI operates.
