Rainbow Legends is an ambitious roguelike deckbuilding game that distinguishes itself through an inventive territory-control system layered on top of traditional card combat. Developed by Unpixel Cloud Cedar Studio and published by Light Up Games, the game introduces a refreshing strategic dimension where success depends not only on the cards in a player's hand but also on how effectively they dominate space across the battlefield. This unique approach gives the game a distinct identity in a genre that often relies on familiar mechanics and established formulas. At the center of the experience is a colorful battlefield where territory ownership directly impacts combat outcomes. Rather than focusing exclusively on dealing damage through card combinations, players must expand their influence across the board and protect areas already under their control. The amount of territory occupied becomes a key factor in determining offensive strength, creating a dynamic system where positioning is just as important as deck composition. Every turn requires balancing immediate tactical opportunities against long-term control of the battlefield, making encounters feel more thoughtful and engagin…3 found this helpful
"What a fun concept of Splatoon card battler game with big titty anime girls." This game was a clear winner of the session. The unique territory-control mechanic combined with deck building creates a genuinely fresh experience that stands out from typical roguelikes. I highly recommend this game for anyone looking for a well-polished and innovative strategy experience. Gameplay
For now, it really needs some refining. The concept is there, the game, in theory, would be a lot of fun, but between limited explanations of what's going on, and translation issues (which could also be the cause of the problem), there are enough issues which make me just unable to enjoy the experience. Hopefully I'll be able to come back in future and change my opinion, but for now I couldn't recommend it unfortunately.
A perfect board based deckbuilder. There are so many characters, items, events and cards leading to so many playstyles with a ton of modifiers to switch up the game. The only flaw if any is that there isn't PVP because I can't imagine the replay value if it were added.
CONS got to a fight that makes it where you literally cant target anything, and isnt fully explained as to why. but a few things arent fully explained properly half the game is in another language and isnt translated. which happens with about 5 events and 2 cards out of the small time i have gotten to play There have been some visual bugs but they aren't too bad overall. Some of the cards and upgrades seem vague but trial and error helps? PROS the characters are well done in an artstyle i can appreciate. The concept is unique and actually a pretty fun concept that really throws roguelike cardbuilding into a new light with the tile capturing mechanics. mechanics are somewhat easy to learn but have a massive curve for those wanting to master. them with larger combos and strategies. The devs seem to actually care about feedback and putting up more updates. Music fits the vibes and provides a nice ambience Could be an absolutely fun unique game but needs some more work for me to recommend it to someone
not recommended as is, currently still not fully translated and random frame rate drops that shouldn't happen
