Why do puzzle games have such good writing nowerdays? Why can't we have that in story games?

For free? A great detective game with a unique premise and gameplay, for free? With an airtight story that made me binge the whole thing? All for absolutely free? With a follow up coming soon? If this isn't heaven then I don't know what is, 'cause there's just so much here to like and the mystery scales super well, from really obvious stuff to some real tough nuts to crack which you just barely manage to piece together into a cohesive picture. Some achievements pop up a bit too quick (or I'm just a slow reader) but that's such a minor nitpick. Some epilogue stuff is just story, which is still great and awesome and all that, but you're no longer a detective. The narrative pulls through to the end, play it, it only costs you a bit of time and what it gives in return is more than worth it. I'd place it up there with Obra Dinn and Golden Idol, a-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-mazing.

How could this be a free game??? Amazing quality of story, research and overall gameplay experience. I'll be sure to replay it for many times to come.

Loved it.

We played in a small group so we got to read out the scenes with the characters assigned to different people, and had a lot of fun tracing down all the hints! I was a bit sceptical at first about the whole game principle, especially when we got slightly info-dumped in the starting sequence, but that faded quickly after the first few scenes. The setting is very unique and we got to learn a lot about an area of the world war that we weren't familiar with at all (German history lessons really don't have room for excursions lol).
