About Real Vampires
From Folklore to Gameplay: Meet the Real Vampires
Real Vampires is a narrative-driven adventure game that blends dark humor, eerie poetry, and authentic Slavic vampire folklore into a unique interactive experience. Developed by Those Eyes, the Copenhagen-based studio behind the award-winning Cosmic Top Secret, this game invites players to explore real stories of fear, death, and transformation—told through the eyes of both vampire and folk.Inspired by Dr. Łukasz Kozak’s haunting anthology With Stake and Spade: Vampiric Diversity in Poland, the game breathes (undead) life into real historical accounts of vampirism. Kozak is the protagonist, leading you through chilling tales rooted in local beliefs, from plague burials to devoured shrouds, and be forced to ask: who are the real monsters? But this isn’t just a walk through the graveyard. Each level features inverse mechanics that flip traditional gameplay on its head. Progress through failure, question your actions, and see the world from both sides of the stake. Because in Real Vampires, failure is not the end, but the beginning of a greater understanding.Along the way, you’ll dig, slice, chew, bake, and bleed through surreal mini-games that challenge your assumptions—sometimes literally. Humor and horror go hand-in-hand as you unearth buried truths and encounter undead beings that are frightening, absurd, and oddly relatable.Key Features

Fun little game! Only quite short but thoroughly entertaining- and educational! I look forward to seeing what this team does next :)4 found this helpful
If you like Wario-ware style mini games and want to learn some Eastern European Vampire and Witch lore, this is the game for you! Not too in depth, but it will start you down the rabbit hole of this kind of history and superstition!4 found this helpful
Solid Indie gem!2 found this helpful
Lots of fun, weird stories in there, I was really pleasantly surprised by this game 😄1 found this helpful
Those Eyes first caught our attention with Cosmic Top Secret, a game that mixes learning a lot about the Cold War and Danish intelligence's role in it, a very sentimental autobiography from someone trying her best to discover her own roots when a lot of them are classified, and an instantly eye-catching weird (in a good way) art style and presentation. Now, they bring us Real Vampires, another fine piece of historical edutainment made enjoyable through the surreal presentation, now with more "quick, do the thing" microgame-style gameplay. Or, as we said when streaming it privately among friends (I think the naked breasts and genitalia in some sections would make it an issue to try streaming this on Twitch): "This is the weirdest WarioWare we've ever seen." That's meant in the most positive, affectionate, we love this kind of way, by the way. Well researched, well presented, fun to play, images that will stay in your brain long after playing, and you even learn a lot about classic folklore! What's not to love?
This is a really fun game. I'm a sucker for Wario Ware type games, and Real Vampires is a cool take on the format. With some cool folklore, engaging gameplay, and an awesome art style. I also love how when you lose, it switches game modes. Definitely a great purchase!
