Red Spider 2: Exiled is an intense, story-driven visual novel that kept me hooked from start to finish. What impressed me most is the writing, it’s sharp, mature, and full of political intrigue, betrayal, and emotional depth. The choices you make really feel significant, shaping not only the story’s direction but also how you see the characters and their motives. The cast is complex and well-written, with layered personalities and believable conflicts. The narrative explores heavy themes like loyalty, revenge, and identity, and it does so in a way that feels realistic and thought-provoking. The art style may be simple, but it fits the gritty tone of the story, and the soundtrack enhances the tension perfectly. If I had to point out flaws, the pacing can be a bit slow in the middle chapters, and some dialogue sections feel overly long. Red Spider 2: Exiled is a prequel to Red Spider: Vengeance https://store.steampowered.com/app/537130 And it's even better! I am amazed how masterfully story is build that no matter the choices some things are "fated to happen". Also, how the best (in my opinion) route is not available from first playthrough. Story is so good, that I could not wait to read more, after each session. Music is also very good - although it's almost exactly same as 1st part.

"Red Spider2: Exiled" is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This e-book is a high school literature club dropout fan-fiction about the authors imaginary girlfriend, who lives as a secret assassin in Hong Kong. Pretty cool having an imaginary girlfriend who lives in Hong Kong, huh. So yeah this is a godawful cringefest. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to read the next sentence, instead of just turning the page…
