About Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs

Regalia: Of Men And Monarchs is an RPG full of challenging combat and exciting adventures. Create your party of distinct individuals and get to work! There's a lot to be done if you are to rebuild your kingdom. Enjoy the beautiful hand-drawn graphics, lose yourself in the original orchestral soundtrack composed by Game Audio Factory (of Furi and the Endless series fame), and go adventuring in the untamed regions of the land of Ascalia!

Your story begins in somewhat unexpected circumstances. Who would have thought that after your father passed away you would inherit… a wondrous kingdom far, far away? Unfortunately as soon as you arrive in Ascalia you find out the kingdom is drowning in terrible debt. Now, through some good old fashioned adventuring, you have to return your family seat to its former glory, help out your new subjects, and repay the kingdom’s massive debt!

Regalia: Of Men And Monarchs is a brand new RPG and a Kickstarter success. It was funded by gamers who, just like us, believe that we need to have more good tactical role-playing games. In the end, it was made to be everything we ourselves want from an honest RPG game.

So, will you defeat all the rats, bandits, monsters, and debt collectors? Or will your ruined kingdom fall into an even worse ruin? If you won’t succeed it will be the world’s first ruined ruin. And that’s just the worst.

    PREVIEWS

    CD-Action
I’d really love to draw your attention to Polish Regalia, Final Fantasy Tactics with Persona-esque social links system and humourous storytelling like in the Disgaea series.

    Enemy Slime
The game already looks remarkably polished, featuring tons of great looking art and an already very deep battle system.

    The Vertical Slice
If you’re a fan of tactical RPGs, this is definitely something to put on your list.

I don't want to be harsh towards an indie effort in this genre from nearly ten years ago, but there are too many downsides and not enough upside with Regalia. I can get past the lack of healing within battles, but the limited time calendar system is another annoyance, and the lack of readily available save opportunities just makes things unpleasant to plan playing time around, not to mention potential restarts and repeated content. I'd put up with all of that if there was a particular draw, but the story isn't much, the progression is simple, the combat isn't amazing, and the music is downright terrible. There are too many other interesting options out there today to spend time with this one.

Good, fun, simple turn based JRPG'ish game I love turn based games and came across this game suggestion from a you tube video. Finished the game around 19 Hrs (you can finish it earlier, around 15 Hrs). Happy that You can continue the game after finishing the main quest line and finish additional quests or do exploring. When I looked at the reviews, most of it were positive and decided to try the game. I am simply surprised that this game do not have more of reviews or player count, it is disheartening to see that for a good game like this. I'll list out all the positives and negatives from my view. Positives 1. 8 Steam trading cards. 2. I have a potato PC with Intel UHD graphics and game runs at 60 FPS. Incredibly optimized and no noticeable frame drops. 3. Loved the story. I'm not going to spoil anything, it's a simple one story with a twist. You need to experience it. 4. Special credit for the dialogues in this game. One of the funniest Turn-based RPGs I've ever played. 5. Variety of side characters to choose from. All of them are different in terms of skills and gameplay. No two characters are similar. 6. Incredible voice acting for the mail story. Mai…

This game takes too long to ramp up anywhere IMO. Try another TTRPG game.

Fun and short game that has a bit of everything. I recommend buying it on a sale. Will give you approx 20hs completing the main storyline and several sidequests. A word of warning, there are still some bugs that will make you lose progress if you did not manually save (and you cannot save anywhere) so save frequently.
