About Requiem For a Lost World

Requiem For a Lost World is a survival roguelike where you don't attack directly, but build a system that fights for you. Your weapons fire automatically. Your job is to move, survive, and make the right decisions every time you level up.No two runs play out the same. Every choice you make: which weapons to pick? which elements to combine? which items to sacrifice HP for? Shapes a build that either holds together under pressure or falls apart when the waves stop giving you room to breathe.Play solo or bring up to 7 others along for the run!

Fight off hordes of enemies

Kill enemies, collect EXP, level up, choose what your build becomes and attempt to survive for 30 minutes.Elite enemies drop special rewards if you manage to defeat them. Monster density and strength ramp continuously as the game progresses. Even the best build can fail if played incorrectly - Learn and adapt.

Many characters with distinct abilities

Unlock the growing cast of over 25 unique characters. Each character comes with a passive ability, a locked starting weapon, an active skill, and Shard upgrades that let you rank them up over time. Some scale with enemy count. Some reward risky HP trading. Some revolve entirely around elemental reactions. Your character choice defines the shape of your build before the run even starts.

Build Your System

Vast selection of upgrades

Stack your loadout over the course of a run. Each level-up offers a randomized selection of new weapons, upgrades, or passive items to choose from a vast inventory of 100+ weapons and items. Every weapon follows and archetype and deals element-aligned damage making selecting right combinations more important than ever!

Elemental Reactions

Make a build focusing on multiple elements: hit an enemy with two different elements and a powerful reaction triggers unleashing even more devastation.Or do the opposite: stack the same element repeatedly to trigger a different type of effect!

Experience the stylized world

Traverse the vast grass fields of the outskirts of the Capital, dive deep into dark dungeons of the Capital's undergrounds, or explore the vast snow plains of the Northern Tundra. Beautiful VFX and the mix of 2D and 3D graphics will make sure to keep you visually entertained. Each location is filled with puzzles and points of interest for you to discover.

Multiple progression systems

Equip characters with relics, acquire their rank-ups when weapons alone are no longer enough and unlock buffs from global passive tree. Each character benefits from different stats, and it's up to you to find the perfect balance or define your own META build! With nearly 40 upgradable stats there is plenty to choose from!

Plan your builds ahead of time

Tired of the randomness in your builds? Strategize them with a built-in planner and compete in leaderboards for the high score!

Play with others

The full game supports online co-op for up to 8 players. Every player builds their own loadout independently, which means eight different builds sharing the same arena for extra chaos! Add a team building to the mix: reaction-focused characters stack well with others running elemental weapons. Survivability roles free up more aggressive players to take risks. Possibilities are endless-Or maybe you are a streamer, believing that your chat won't make the gameplay a living hell? With Twitch integration, you can let the chat control your fate!

In a world scarred by a forgotten era, only one sanctuary remains.

Beyond the chaos lies a deeper narrative.Follow Nishi, a man trapped in an endless loop, reliving the same tragedy over and over again in a desperate attempt to save the one he loves.Meet unforgettable characters whose fates intertwine.Piece together the truth of a world that has already ended… more than once.
Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
"Requiem For a Lost World" is worse than an asset flip... it's a collection of garbage AI slop pretending to be a real game. The only notable remarkable thing about this is how badly it failed (sending a clear message to developers everywhere that AI slop is utterly unacceptable in gaming). The game is due to be finished within the next month or so, but it doesn't look likely it will be... and why bother? This isn't even a real game, it's just a collection of AI slop pretending to be a game and insulting both gamers and real content creators. Let's keep Steam clear of "vibe coders". There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS co…

This game is definitely enjoyable. I have followed the game for the past year or so and it has made tremendous improvements over that time. The game itself is a survivors game with many different characters, weapons and items, some better than others. The there's tons of smaller systems to upgrade your characters like a shop for shared permanent stats, a basic skill tree for shared permanent stats, character shards, relics and more. The art may be AI generated, but that shouldn't take away from the gameplay itself, which is quite fun.

I had a lot of fun with this, took me 24 hours to master it. Only thing I can really ask for from what I played is a way to have low weapon effects/ particle effects while keeping other graphics options high. The reason why is because the further you get into this game the more likely you will be using area of effect weapons with bonuses to the area of effect meaning that certain weapons can take up the entire screen and you can no longer see anything.
