really fun game, just needs more people playing. should add vc and a map builder. maybe even custom guns or skins.

Glad I found this little gem of the game. Amazing work.

It kills me that this game is dead. This is my favorite game ever made, I remember playing it on console years ago and having the time of my life, while Im still having fun today it just sucks to know the game has died. This game is so unique and dont ask me why but so insanely funny, flying across the map at mach sweet jesus because of an accelerator bullet you forgot you even fired will never not be hilarious. PLEASE PLAY!!!!!!

Retrograde Arena is a really unusual multiplayer shooter because the bullets are not actually what kills me. I control a small drone in a neon arena and use weapons to push myself and other drones around the map. The real danger comes from crashing into the deadly parts of the arena, so I am constantly thinking about movement, positioning and momentum instead of simply trying to aim at someone's health bar. I like that the game takes a familiar twin stick shooter idea and changes one important rule, because it makes even basic fights feel different. The recoil movement is easily my favourite part. I can fire behind myself to propel the drone forward, use shots to escape from danger or hit another drone hard enough to send it flying. Once I start getting used to it, shooting is no longer just about attacking. Every weapon can also become a movement tool. That gives me a lot more freedom during a fight, and I like having to think about where the recoil is going to send me before I fire. A strong shot at the wrong moment can save me or send me straight into a deadly wall. The weapons also give the combat some variety. There are weapons built around different effects such as ricochet…

I like it.

A good choice for offline time AI is strong enough to play with
