About Rite of Passage: Hide and Seek Collector's Edition

From Mad Head Games, creators of the acclaimed Cadenza: Music, Betrayal and Death and Nevertales: The Beauty Within, comes another thrilling tale in their Rite of Passage series.

Twenty years ago, a group of children in the town of Greystone were taken by a mysterious fog while playing hide and seek, including your brother. Only you escaped… Your father went looking for your brother and never returned. Now you’ve found evidence that your father has been alive this entire time, still searching for the missing children. But why would he remain silent for so long? And why was he so determined to keep you away from Greystone? You immediately head out to find answers. But are you prepared for what awaits you in the mysterious fog? Find out in this creepy Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game!

The game wasn't bad. Actually fun for awhile. The problem I had with it was that some of the mini games were poorly explained. When you finally fight the bad guy (girl), it tells you that you need to match symbols to beat her. However, even if you do so, it repeatedly puts you back to the beginning just to make the puzzle more difficult. There's no timer or even any mention of a time limit so it's nothing more than the developers trying to be clever. I skipped the puzzle out of frustration because the game didn't feel it was necessary to tell players how to actually get past it. Nothing worse than an easy puzzle made difficult by handsy developers who can't just leave us alone to beat the game. For this reason alone, this game is not recommended. That's right Mad Head. It's that serious. You've done this in other games too and it's high time you realize that enough is enough. Either find the creativity to come up with challenging puzzles if that's what you want to do or leave things the way they are. (I realize Mad Head went out of business years ago. Just saying...)

It is a classic hidden object game and it's nice to play a game that is well done.

Well i abs. loved the snow, and seeing as we never got any over Christmas, i loved it! The colour of the video was stunning, and i am really enjoying it. I certainly would recommend this to others. My son Paul set me up for Steam and am so very pleased he did it so that i can order any games myself, and will certainly be checking some of the games on here! So pleased i found Steam, it was only because i asked Paul about it as he has hundreds of games which i believe he purchases many from Steam so does his two daughters.

Mad Head just copypastes the same game over and over again. It's still solid but it's still the same game, with same mechanics, similar story and same art style. I wish they were more creative – like they were with Adam Wolfe.

Very enjoyable game. Story is compelling and puzzles are fairly difficult but not hard enough from playing this game.
