I wanted to like this game but it gets too boring too quickly. It doesn't have much going for it either. There no achivements to even grind for. Would love to see more games that combine 2 completely genres into a single entity, this one ain't it tho.

Does not fully support controllers, despite rebindable keys. Couldn't navigate menus or aim golf ball. Text boxes are even too small for the few words they contain.

The game is best described as "not bad though not good either." If you look for something specific such as a second-tier Zelda-like, you might like it. If you expect a general quality experience, look elsewhere. The asset level is minimal. Because of the repetitive, minimal quality of the game, the replay value is zero. It is wildly repetitive clubbing of enemies with somewhat inconsistent hitboxes and randomly-working hit detection. The 'golf' part is highly secondary and mostly used to unlock progression. The golf flight trajectories do not account the stat bonuses, meaning you never know how far the ball is going to fly. The RPG elements are nominal stat increases and the choice factor disappears once you realize that everything else besides Strength - that drastically increases clubbing damage - do almost nothing and waste points. The plot is not there. The ending is pretty much the monster leader assuring that he will pull out his guys from then on. Every single boss fight is like this: wait for the boss to do its invulnerable pattern until it stops and becomes hittable for a moment and repeat. There is no pausing in the game. Poisoning damage progresses no matter what. …

It feels like a bad port. Not for me.

I'm only a few hours into this, and I find this to be a decent casual adventure game with a clever spin. Combat is pretty straight forward and the integration into what could be a snoozefest of a golfing game is greatly welcomed. Nothing is especially spectacular, but definitely a great game to throw in your library as a fun game to kill time on a flight or long drive (provided you aren't the one driving - it's not THAT casual of a game). So if that's what you're looking for, definitely grab this at a great price. Don't expect anything amazing, but it will keep you occupied providing a unique experience.
