About RUNOUT

RunOut is a dynamic runner-platformer with logical riddles in the setting of the future. Midcore-Hardcore. As a result of a hacker attack on the servers of the corporation 'MFS', which produces exoskeletons, most of the carriers of exoskeletons were killed. In addition to crashing, some exoskeletons have certain options: shooting, time freeze and acceleration ... All this makes us a valuable target not only for policemen, but also for criminals.

The player always runs, when he collides with any obstacle, he turns in the opposite direction. He has to jump, shoot, speed up, slow down time and solve logic riddles that will allow him to pass the level. Find the culprit of all this chaos and save the world.

RUNOUT is a poorly made console ported 2D retro pixel platformer/autorunner with a cyberpunk theme. Run endlessly left and right on platformer levels, jumping occasionally, avoiding obstacles, collecting keycards and wondering how on earth this garbage ever got accepted on the consoles (because they have quality control where Valve just lets anything onto Steam). There's no redeeming features to this game, it's just pointless GameMaker Studio shovelware from an unethical Russian developer. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try i…

https://youtu.be/LYgCrehNVNc Opening content available does not make a compelling case for why this game was designed as an autorunner as level design/flow does not reward that style of play.

music is neat, the autorunner is odd. it makes the game feel less fine-tuned (direction wise) than other platformers

Not recommended, but could be worth a try for auto-runner die-hards. I feel like this has a lot of potential to be much better. The graphics are simplistic and the music pretty standard, but the setting is one I tend to enjoy and the concept of an auto-runner puzzle platformer grabs my interest. Sadly, I didn't feel like the controls and level design make for a fun experience. It's more frustrating just navigating the world than it should be. If you love auto-runners, it might be worth a go, but the rest can pass.

I like hardcore games. Also I like cyberpunk genre, pixel art style, and synthwave music very much. This game is difficult and constantly tests your reflexes and patience. Be advised that playing on the most hardcore setting right away might not be a very wise desision :)

I love this gameplay! So weird and very challenging.
