About Sacred Fire: A Role Playing Game

Rome has crossed Hadrian’s Wall in full force. Your only hope is to reach Dunadd, a seat of power, and unite the tribes. But first you need to warn Wid, your loyal brother and the only family you have left, beyond the memories of a father you would rather forget and those of a mother you struggle to hold on to.

Will you save those close to you, or risk everything to make an Empire bleed?

Customizing your character’s appearance and traits is just the beginning. Choose your thoughts, words and actions to further shape your body and mind throughout the story.

Emotions affect the success of all dice rolls, in and out of combat. Use your character’s willpower to perform at your peak in battle and guarantee success in negotiations.

Reveal ideas holding you back and forge your mind into a weapon strong enough to brave beasts, men, and your own heart.

Interact with lifelike characters and discover what drives them. Decide what you make of them and mold relationships into deadly rivalries or walk-through-fire friendships.

Analyze your opponents and navigate deadly battles. Spare, save, kill, or abandon characters. Play it safe, or pull off feats worthy of legends to compete for status and influence.

Will you merely survive, or will you find something worth fighting for? Can your choices change your fate and craft a legacy that will echo through the ages?

It's not bad, definitely different but does ever thing need to be a test? holy cow, every sentence you have to do some test .If you think your good at 80%, nope game will roll 90%, even on things your good at. Do you stick your head up to look? Do you ask some one a personal question? One test is do you pick up a arrow, i failed at 80%, the game rolled 92%,, i cant even pick up a arrow, In other words, theres way to many test. another thing, Im good with the bow, Why do i start out on a test at 20%? i have 10 points in it. and i can only get it to 60%, and the game loves rolling 80% and above, and if you fail on a big thing and your like me, youll have to start back at the start of the chapter. Anyway this game has been in the making for a long time, and still not finished. its like paying full price for a house that will take more than 5 years to finish, so be warned.

I don't typically play visual novels but my pc broke and I'm stuck playing what my laptop can handle. This game while unfinished is surprisingly good. I do have some complaints like forcing a dice roll for the most simple things gets annoying. The overall choice and consequence system is great and the story is solid and it's not overly priced, I'd recommend it as long as you go into it knowing it's an incomplete game.

Its a good little story. (In the current state only up to ACT2) A game where choices actually matter. Characters can be killed off and the decisions and influences they may have in the latter parts of the story go right along with them. I haven't noticed if they are replaced with generic "fill-ins" to help direct their absence but so far, it doesn't. If they die, they die and the story just continues on without them. While there are really only a handful of characters that seem to be able to die off or simply abandoned to their fate - said fate can alter how the story plays out in some way shape or form. I understand it is a pretty big undertaking to account for every character, but it would be nice if said characters actually played more of an integral part throughout the story instead of just being ... side characters. Overall though, the story is pretty good so far and the way the choices and actions plays out is nicely done.

Death is permanent and more common than I expected. The percentages aren't really accurate. I have failed 12 times in a row on a 43% chance of success check. It was required to make that roll in order to prevent game over, or I would have never bothered. That was followed by a 5% for good result, or 70% roll for bad result check. I would cheat this normally. In general, the story is interesting, but the mechanics need some tweaking. I have been playing on normal difficulty. More recommended than not recommended.

Easy recommendation from a player who enjoyes rpgs , visual novels and choose your own adventure games Very pretty visuals, audio and music. The RPG mechanics are simple yet intuitive and while mostly percentage based have a nice sense of progression and characer evolution. Although there is a rough chain of events that you follow, there are quite a few ways to approach stuff and I have certainly had some fun with different playthroughs. Really enjoyable time with it.
