Samurai's path

A charming and visually inspired game that, unlike most titles in the genre, lets you jump in and complete its mini-games within just a few minutes. By doing so, you earn collectible items that you can trade or sell on the Steam Market. It doesn’t need to run constantly in the background unless you want to speed things up. Overall, it’s a very pleasant little game to add to your morning routine—something quick and relaxing to play when you first turn on your PC.

This game is hopelessly broken. I have no idea what the other reviewers who said positive things are talking about. There is no tutorial, just text explaining what you can do. I played my first mini game. The text description wasn't very good. I was supposed to slice all of the leaves in one go. I didn't. Reset counter to next mini game? over 50 minutes. That's steep, but I'll close out (there's also no exit game option that I could find, so you're going to have to close the window). I open and the timer is at the exact same place. I think I maybe closed out of it incorrectly. I try multiple times. Same timer. I'm still 50 minutes out from the next mini game, which I'm sure will be at least as obscurely explained and unwinnable. This is emblematic of the new garbage showing up on steam where somebody sought a cheap cash grab with a "minimalist" game. I've played a few of these and enjoyed them, but they were at least playable. This, on the other hand, reeks of a vibe-coded cash-grab. The ratings are deceptive. The time plays with you and the game. It's not the game that takes you time.

Samurai's path is a surprisingly relaxing little collection game, and I liked how it takes the idea of becoming a samurai and turns it into something much more casual. Instead of constantly fighting enemies, I spend most of my time at a dojo training, completing small challenges and building up a collection of different katanas. It is a simple concept, but there is something satisfying about checking back in and seeing what I have earned. The main gameplay revolves around short training mini games that appear as missions. Completing them rewards me with katana boxes, which then give me different blades with various rarities. I enjoyed the little bursts of interaction because they prevent the game from being completely passive. The challenges are simple enough to understand quickly, but they still give me something to do while waiting for the next opportunity to progress. Collecting the katanas is easily the biggest part of the experience for me. Finding a new blade has that familiar excitement of opening a reward box, especially when I get something rarer than expected.
