I wondered why there were so many Christmas movies to watch during the holiday season, but so few games to play to get you into the Christmas spirit. I fondly remembered my 2 brothers and I huddling around a single keyboard together and playing the SRB2 (it's a fan game) time-limited Christmas mode every year, and decided to jam out the very first SantaCorps game in about 3 days. Ever since then, I've tried to make it a tradition to set time aside each year to make a joyful game for free/cheap, both for us to practice new skills and techniques, and to simply have fun with the process of making something purely out of our love for video games. Later in 2021, Seth and I set out to make the game that sits in front of you now, but due to the scope we had in mind and us just having too much on our plates at the time, we couldn't swing it back then. It's bugged me ever since, and mentioning SantaCorps 4 to tick me off became something of an in-joke within the team. Fast forward to now: we spun back, started over from scratch with our newfound experience and tooling, and set out to make the biggest, baddest, most off-the-wall SantaCorps yet. It turned out even better than I hoped when I first designed it, and I'm super grateful to my brothers and my team for not only humoring me, but giving it their all. I hope this game brightens your day, and reminds you of the magic in your own heart. Enjoy :)

Okay, so the ability to save the game had been patched to work, which is great news! However on the third stage of the yellow clouds levels there are several chimneys which are completely inaccessable; they're higher than the skybox, as in higher than you are able to go up. Those are kinda necessary for getting a high enough score, made only more difficult by the combo multiplier randomly reseting for no particular reason I can see. It's a fun game but very buggy at the moment.

we have sonic at home + music since this last update starting on the 2 and 3rd levels im hitting something in the snow that knocks you back, its all over the place. makes the game unplayable. not sure if its every level but didnt play past that wasnt like this before last update. assume something invisible is clipping the floor and im hitting it https://youtu.be/_fM8PYqPDvA

This game is a fun time. Once you have the controls figured out, you're blasting off at high speeds to spread some holiday cheer. The soundtrack is also great at amplifying the rush, and making me want to hear more. More than worth the $5 asking price.

This game is actually pretty sick as an arcade game. Not mechanically but spiritually I'd compare it to Nights into Dreams, or something from the dreamcast era. While the handling on the ground is pretty unstable and can't handle itself well often, using the balloon move to turn after dashing on the ground and using the coin dash to refresh the 2 balloons you're allowed midair lets you really go wherever you want as quickly as you want. It feels really addictive to try to stack huge combos, and they carry between stages which is cool. Really tight little game, definitely worth the asking price if you like stylish arcade games and can get used to how unwieldy it is. Feels great once you wrangle it in.

genuinely don’t know why this game doesn’t have more positive reviews… only six? it looks like a 1,000+ review “Very Positive” game to me! to begin with, it’s not perfect. my main problem is mostly the sheer amount of bugs i’ve been having with this game. from the chimney on the airship spitting you into a void which you need to restart the game to fix, and the janky collision, and so on. buuuut, look past that and you have a VERY enjoyable, cute, and short drop in and play kind of game that’s very reminiscent of the dreamcast library. brimming with personality, wonderful colors, and UGH the music (which is the main reason why i’ve decided to pick up this game!). it’s so, so so so good. the titling is kind of odd, cus calling it santa corps 4 implies that there are three other santa corps games, but there’s only one and the ‘4’ is meant to indicate 4 player multiplayer. but hey, i don’t mind it too much. this game is definitely worth the 5 bucks, and if the game receives patches for the bugs, id say its worth more.

ok i do like this game enough to where ill give it a positive review its very sonic and nights and crazy taxi gameplay wise and actually very unique and surprisingly original despite its foundations that inspired it. its also something you`d see in an arcade machine and would wanna play very very fun. HOWEVER my biggest grip with this game right now are the SLOPES if your gonna add them to a physics based game like this and make a dedicated level for it the number one rule to games like this is you gotta make sure they work and coincide with the level design, the slanted slopes are fine the curved slopes however, just dont work right and thats a big flaw for this type a game, may i say jank and not the good kind either. otherwise good game overall if you love score attacks like crazy or nights id say give it a try its just 5 buckaroos it wont kill ya. and as for the devs if your making another game like this(which i hope) make sure those slope physics work right i and probably many others would appreciate that because this game is rad.
