Scoop Kick!

Honestly, I only bought this to supoort the dev who made the amazing Rayman 1 remake and that promising Rayman clone. Pros: -A fun little arcade game where you kick ice cream to crush enemies. -Some interesting bosses the help mix the game up like the grapes that spawn mini enemies. -There are some harder extra levels for the post game and they do mix the enemies a bit like the pears that become ghosts when squished. -Like the art and character design. Cons: -I know the enemies have different AI (I noticed with the oranges and cherries) but I have no idea what each one does differently. -The bonus levels are this game at it's worst since you have to collect all the pick ups with no means to defend yourself. They are harder than the post game secret and extra levels -I have no idea what these Dev scores are in the achivements but I have a feeling they are bull crap since the normal score medals are hard enough to get.

Fun little game but the grape enemies are literally satan. The levels where they appear in are the worstt

Ryemanni, best known for their fantastic remake/reimagining of the original Rayman under the name Rayman Redemption (an insanely amazing game available for free!!!) followed their major work up with Scoop Kick! and they did not disappoint. Scoop Kick! is just as fun, creative and difficult as RR and, just like it, has an insane amount of content (including so much post-main game stuff). It is designed as a combination of early console platformers and classic arcade games (one small gripe: a bit too many levels where the enemies easily corner you) and it is obvious how much love and passion went into designing every single stage. I had such a great time playing this and I am now even more excited to play their next game Connie and the Essence of Chaos.

More or less completed it but not 100%, its a good game for both casual gamers and ones that cut their teeth on achievement-chasing. Alternate characters are available to play that you can unlock with earning medals, nine altogether. I think being able to hold r to restart and spacebar to skip a cutscene helped when I was getting stuck and wanted to just throw myself at the level. Storyline is simple, as is the case with the genre: fruits steal your scoops, you go get the scoops back, no dialogue. That's not a bad thing, its an arcade game after all.
