Rough gem, but sadly unfinished & abondoned.6 found this helpful
Overall a very fun game, but I wish steam had a neutral option. Tried the demo and had a blast, liked it so much I got it! Although, after playing it, it just isn't for me, and refunded it. It's a very good game, it just doesn't scratch that slay the spire, Wildfrost, or Deulyst 2 itch for me. No matter what though, try the demo! Pros: -Looks great! The pixel art is superb, and the stages look great. -Tons of strategy, you can upgrade card, find new ones, get charms -similar to Wildfrost- to equip to cards -Has a cool twist! You can find companions on your runs which are additional decks and Characters to pilot and customize. -Combat feels fun slicing through people. -They blended the best of the deck building and tactics genres into a great package. -They really nailed the good decisions that come up in positioning and playing cards from up to three characters hands. -No bugs! Okay's: -It's manageable on steam deck. It is just a little bit slow and janky to handle over a mouse, but otherwise it works fine. -Enemy interaction isn't to high. Most enemies don't make you think differently in approaching them, other than go close to hit, back away if charging up a telegraphed attack…4 found this helpful
Buggy mess of a game with a horribly awkward UI, unreliable damage preview and unclear/bugged interactions of various keywords. Controller support is also very poor: everything takes multiple inputs and just navigating the grid is an exercise in frustration. This would need a lot more polish to be an enjoyable title. Since development appears to be finished, I'd say stay away from this one.3 found this helpful
Shuffle Tactics, developed by Club Sandwich and published by The Arcade Crew, is an ambitious blend of turn-based tactics and roguelike deckbuilding that aims to merge two complex genres into a single cohesive experience. At its best, it delivers moments of clever synergy and strategic satisfaction, but it also reveals the challenges of balancing layered systems that don’t always align as smoothly as intended. Set in a fractured fantasy world overtaken by a mysterious corruption, the game establishes a thematic backdrop that supports its mechanics without becoming the central focus. The narrative introduces a kingdom in decline and a cast of characters shaped by this decay, but storytelling remains relatively light. Rather than guiding the experience through deep character arcs or intricate lore, the game uses its setting as a framework for the tactical encounters that define its core. This approach keeps the pacing focused on gameplay, though it can leave the world feeling underdeveloped for players seeking a stronger narrative connection. The defining feature of Shuffle Tactics is its hybrid combat system. Battles take place on grid-based maps where positioning, terrain, and mo…2 found this helpful
