SILK - A Leo Parker Adventure

A pretty nice point n click adventure! I think the word "cupboards" in the beginning is misspelled. I also wonder what all the Chinese characters actually say. XD The game itself runs off mini-games and... AND! If you AREN'T GOOD at them?! They give you an "EASY" mode. They knew to put that mode in because of "Minesweeper" one. I have a 99.3% failure rate and will always click the bomb/red devil within 1-3 clicks. Yes. That and I truly have no idea how to solve the last puzzle. I just spun sheet around. Don't attempt that puzzle whilst superbly tired. Lol. I may have figured out all the twists, but it was still a fun story. It seems that there is *another* adventure... But you can't play it. Maybe it's coming here and it's a preview. *nods* It's good stuff. Ah yeah, forgot to mention... When you finish the "ALCHEMY POTION" (that's the simplified version of what it is) at the end... DO NOT CLICK ON THE TABLE AGAIN!!! I TRIPLICATED IT!!! AHAHAHAHA! I HAD THREE!!! They ALL tried to be applied to the object!!! Granted it didn't crash or cause problems for the game... Still hilarious. :p Kay. Good.

Silk is the first Leo Parker adventure to appear on Steam. It is preceded by Sand which was released in early 2025 for iOS platforms. I stumbled upon it by accident and was surprised at what an engaging adventure it is. Leo Parker is an archaeologist who receives a letter from his mentor indicating that assistance is needed. After exploring for local clues, Leo heads for China to search for an ancient Ming dynasty palace. He runs into friends and foes along the way and must puzzle his way to a lost treasure to determine his mentor’s fate. The story does not break new ground but it is still fun to unwind. The game is formatted like a graphic novel with some limited motion. Navigation is pure point-and-click. Puzzles are diverse and include mechanical exercises, find-and-use inventory, and those solved with clues from the environment. There is a hint system which provides guidance and a “simplify” option for most puzzles. While not solving the puzzle for you, the “simplify” option reduces complexity and makes your path to a solution easier. I found it quite useful on some of the mechanical puzzles. Banal puzzles. Awful short music that repeats and makes you go insane. Though what could I've expected from a game that costs so little?

This was a great puzzle game. When I saw the cheap price I thought "Just want to waste some time, lets try it" It is a great game. Graphics are really nice, some misspelled translations and the puzzles are completely doable. There are clues for all puzzles and if you really can't figure it out they make a super easy version for each one. I could see playing this game again in my future.

A puzzle game for people who like the idea but may not be good at them. A lot like older point and click games but features an easy mode for when you get stuck.

Decent puzzle game for the most part. Art style and story were okay as well, even though I did see the plot twist coming from a mile away. I did have issues with some of the puzzles, though. Some of them I did not like personally (the ones where moving one part also moves other parts; I'm terminally bad at those), and a few others had rather annoying design choices (like adding a timer to the box with the ink brush, or fading templates when drawing the Chinese characters). But thankfully the game did provide simplified versions of those. And the music needs volume control rather than an on/off switch. I would've preferred to keep it on as it adds to the atmosphere nicely, but it was so loud that I would've had to turn down my speakers, so I ended up turning it off instead. Rating: ★★★☆☆
