Minimalist 2D platformer where you try to survive as long as possible through obstacle-filled levels ✅Simple yet stylish art style ✅World-switching mechanics ❌Lack of general graphics/controls/audio settings ❌No full-screen mode ❌There are few checkpoints in this game, and if you die, it can really set you back so far that you don’t even want to play anymore ❌The soundtrack is very repetitive ❌The game features a double jump, but it didn’t show us how to use it... ❌Imprecise controls, making it difficult to control the character ❌Right at the start, you can fall off the edge of the map and the game doesn’t end; frequent collision detection issues with objects ❌❌ Verdict: [strike] Terrible [/strike] , [b] Bad [/b] , [strike] Mediocre [/strike] , [strike] Decent [/strike] , [strike] Good [/strike] , [strike] Very Good [/strike] (Rating scale for tested game) [quote] If you'd like to see more of my reviews, you can find them on my curator page:[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45994324/admin/reviews_manage/]CuratorKingViking[/url] and on my group: [url=https://steamcommunity.com/groups/Curat…16 found this helpful
Despite the visually appealing art and effects, the execution of movements and gameplay was horrible. You only movements are the typical AWSD arrows and the ability to double jump, but the jumping animation feels wonky and unprecise. It feels like when I want to jump a distance, my character ALWAYS goes further than what is intended, which could be a mouse sensitivity issue or FPS lag. This appears to be a consistent issue across others too, who have played this game at least up to the second level. The goal is as simple as completing the level, with the guidance of a ghost. But if you touch any white parts of the map you die - this risk itself isn't a challenge, if it wasn't for the poor controls. The game just feels borderline unplayable, and I do not suggest playing Sleeping Valley.5 found this helpful
A bad platformer game with very imprecise controls. The developers keep changing the price of the game around for seemingly no reason. It is absolutely not worth the current [strike]9,99€[/strike] 13,79€ they are asking for.3 found this helpful

Sleeping Valley, developed by White Dog Games and published by SA Industry, is a 2D arcade platformer that leans heavily into minimalist design while delivering an uncompromisingly challenging experience. The game places players in control of a small, endearing character navigating a world filled with deadly obstacles and relentless hazards. The concept is simple: survive as long as possible, knowing that even a single mistake can lead to instant failure. This straightforward premise sets the stage for a game that tests precision, timing, and patience at every turn. The core gameplay of Sleeping Valley revolves around tight, responsive controls that emphasize skill and reflex. Players use basic inputs—movement and jumping—to guide their character through a series of increasingly treacherous levels. Each stage introduces new challenges, from moving platforms to hidden spikes, requiring careful observation and split-second reactions. The difficulty curve is steep, and the game often demands repeated attempts to master even small sections. This punishing design encourages players to learn from failure, turning each death into an opportunity to improve and refine their approach. Visu…
