About SPACEPLAN

✦ AI summary

Click your way through a quirky sci-fi adventure where you build and launch potato-powered devices from orbit to uncover the mysteries of five planets across alternate realities. This narrative-driven clicker blends absurdist humor with genuine storytelling, wrapped in a killer soundtrack that makes grinding feel surprisingly worthwhile.

SPACEPLAN is an experimental piece of interaction based partly on a total misunderstanding of Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time. Use manual clicks and the passage of time to create and launch potato-based devices and probes from your nondescript satellite orbiting a mysterious planet. Unlock the mysteries of the galaxy or just kill some time in what the astrophysics community is calling the ‘best narrative sci-fi clicker game of all times’.

Features

  • Fifteen starchy items to unlock, create, and blast into the vacuum of space.
  • Life affirming, silly story that will both captivate and help you kill time.
  • Reveal the secrets of five different planets across two different realities.
  • Banging soundtrack, as is customary in a narrative sci-fi clicker game.

Read raving praises about this game so wanted to try it out. Sadly compared to other incremental games it does not stand out in the gameplay department. I might even call it boring. Story is serviceable. Then why is this review a recommendation you ask? The OST. Good golly gosh, the music slaps harder than my dad. The ending sequence is nothing short of an extravaganza. Game is cheap enough, if you can spare some time a day and are mildly curious, absolutely worth it at the end.

While the pacing is rather slow, to the point that you are encouraged to drop the game for a couple hours at a time, I do very much enjoy the story this game tells, its fun and the narration is enjoyable and personable. 8/10 definitely worth the price

One of the most unexpectedly great games I've ever played. it's a little slow at the beginning but the moment it picks up its hard to turn away from. The colors and shapes and most of all music are crazy and they all fit together to create a really wonderful experience. By far the greatest clicker I've ever seen.

I was looking for something similar to Universal Paperclips and this is what I landed on. The progression in this is a lot worse, but the presentation is a lot better, and the ending rules.
