In Short
Spoorky is a 2D platformer where you play as a pig named Spoorky. He comes equipped with a sword that he can use to kill enemies and dash. The game has a level creator and a training mode that has 8 levels made by the developers. 🔵 Pros +Good graphics +Training levels explain the mechanics well +Good level creator 🔴 Cons -Not a lot of control or graphical options
🎮 In-Depth Gameplay Analysis
When you begin Spoorky you will need to complete some training levels before you can create or play online levels. The training levels summarize the game mechanics well and are fun to play. There are 2 worlds in the training mode. There is the Tropical Island and the Winter Island as the names say they both have specific themes to them and introduce new mechanics that you can use when creating your own levels. The further you get in the training worlds the more levels you can make and you obtain new items, enemies and blocks to use in your own levels. Both of the worlds contain 4 levels and you need to complete all 4 of them to advance to the next world. The game's mechanics are pretty simple and very similar to Super Mario. There are 3 cakes in …

Should the size of the game not bother you, Spoorky is one that I can genuinely decree to be a very fun experience. Many would say that, despite all else, should something be fun, it's worth it; Spoorky is definitely fun enough to earn that pedigree from me. With the assumption that more content will gradually come after release (as the game feels somewhat incomplete aesthetic-wise) and the influx of new players creating more levels to compete in, it can only get better from where it stands now. Just be sure to bring an empty stomach. + Far more fun than frustrating + Create Mode is easily accessible, quantitatively expansive, and varied + Game controls and performs great + Small, but invigorating soundtrack - Resources in Create Mode are limited - Slippery controls make precise platforming a hassle (especially with spikes) - Lack of overall game modes may spur early boredom Read the full review at https://www.keengamer.com/article/20497_spoorky-review

I really wanted to like this game... Pros - The sword swing attack was pretty cool and was a fun addition to 2d platforming - The weekly challenge Having a set of levels for players to compete on is a fun way to attempt to master a level. Cons- - The enemies The enemies in the game are terrible. Like other sandbox games (Mario Maker), enemies are going to be spammed in levels. The problem is that the enemies range from a fast moving bouncing projectile from a plant, a ladybug that throws balls at you at the worst time possible, and a spider that climbs along the roof and rains down death on you. I really feel like the enemies only add artificial difficulty to levels, since if you put enough of them in one area one of them will kill you sooner or later - The scoring system The scoring system is the main competitive aspect to the game, but it is also pretty poorly designed. You get score for 3 things, collecting fruits/killing enemies, beating the level quickly, and special bonuses/collectables. This sounds fine, but the special bonuses ruin it for me. There are 2 special bonuses. One is for beating the level without getting hit, which is usually very hard when there are so many…
