About Squirrel Stapler
Squirrel Stapler is a short horror hunting simulator where you stalk woodland creatures to collect them for a deeply disturbing purpose, all while evading a wrathful supernatural force that forbids your grim work. It's a pitch-black comedic takedown of budget edutainment games that trades jump scares for sustained dread and absurdist wrongness.
A lonely man living in a remote cabin wakes up one day and realizes his beloved--a dismembered corpse nailed to the cabin wall--has been made ugly and rotten by the flies that swarm her. He wishes she were beautiful, like the squirrels of the wood. And so he sets out to hunt the squirrels of the wood, so that he might staple them to her and make her beautiful again.
But that is easier said than done. A sinister presence lurks in the deep forest, and it has only one rule: "Thou shalt not staple squirrels!"
IN SQUIRREL STAPLER YOU CAN...
- Hunt squirrels! Move quietly, hide in bushes, stay low, and pick the right time to pull the trigger!
- Lure even bigger squirrels with a squirrel call!
- Be wary of larger creatures and vengeful ghosts! You aren't the only alpha predator in the forest!
- Freely explore a large nonlinear map littered with educational squirrel facts and more!
- Meet god!

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Squirrel Stapler is a bizarre and surreal game that players find either entertaining or deeply unsettling, with reactions ranging from enthusiastic approval to existential dread. The core gameplay loop of squirrel-related mechanics divides opinion, though some appreciate its absurdist charm while others find it disturbing. Most players seem to view it as a quirky distraction rather than an essential purchase.
in another effort to review every video game that has helped distract me from the crushing weight of my own mortality and the unavoidable horrors of the human condition: i'd give this game a 0/10 with the footnote: although this game is a 0/10 due to the blatant neglect for the character's beautiful wife, i don't want to upset god so i'm still recommending it 7 found this helpful
