This Jedi Knight expansion introduces a whole new campaign alongside enhanced graphics, refined combat, and fresh multiplayer modes that deepen the classic lightsaber action.

"I have chosen my destiny, and it lies here..." - Kyle Katarn
It is five years after Kyle's victory over the seven dark Jedi. Invading Imperial forces advance upon a quiet Rebel outpost, interrupting Kyle's training of a brave new Jedi, Mara Jade. First introduced in Timothy Zahn's award-winning Star Wars novel, Heir to the Empire, Mara Jade blends her past experiences as a one time smuggler and Emperor's Hand with her apprenticeship as a Jedi Knight. Armed with four new weapons and five new Force powers, Mara must secure supplies desperately needed by the New Republic while Kyle, believing it a part of his destiny, pursues the secret treasures shrouded in an ancient Sith temple.
Can the New Republic's boldest female Jedi protect the Rebel base, negotiate with Ka'Pa the Hutt, then ward off a phalanx of enemies?
Will the ancient secrets of the Sith unleash new powers?
Are Kyle and Mara strong enough to resist the temptations of the dark side, or will new entanglements seduce them?

A decent expansion for Dark Forces 2 that features more of the game's good old classic fps action and adds in many new things. The last few levels are super hard but still manageable imo. Like the base game I recommend playing this via the OpenJKDF2 source port.

Perfect sequel to Dark Forces 2, EXCEPT for missing original voice actors voice lines and also enemy AI proper voice lines. That was huge disappointment and downgrade.

The graphics and in-game videos are pants by even the standard of their time, but the gameplay and storyline are still immersive and challenging. I would be a great remaster project (along with all the Jedi knight games) Enjoyable classic.

I'm doing a playthrough of the entire Jedi Knight series and I have to say (minor spoilers ahead) I was not expecting a zero gravity segment in a game from the 90s. Basically this game isn't afraid to try new ideas as a videogame for good or bad and I cant help but love that. Also bonus points for having PS1 Spider-Man's voice actor in the game

Says I put over 200 hours into this beauty, I don't remember playing it once in my life- must be a 10/10, my brain could not even process the greatness.

I was so ready to like this game despite the mixed reviews, but man, wtf were they thinking. The bad puzzles, dark environments, and obnoxious level design is something I could put up with only if the story was good enough, unfortunately, it wasn't. Before complaining, I'll say I liked the middle part of the game where Mara has to make a deal with a Hutt on the behalf of the New Republic. It shows that they aren't perfect and are willing to do dubious things for there goals. And figuring out how to escape the prison with nothing but the force felt pretty good and was a cool sequence of events. That's it. Don't really like the versions of Kyle and Mara in this game. In the Thrawn trilogy (which takes place a year before this game), Mara is very aggressive and abrasive while in this game she's super quippy, constantly making cringe out of place one liners. Having Kyle turn to the dark side (oops, I spoiled the bad game) was a wild decision. It wasn't built up at all in either this or Dark Forces II, so it kinda just came out of nowhere. He just disappeared from the game, then we seem again at the end and he's just bad now...pretty lame.
