Played the 3 level demo of this game endlessly as a kid. Still is just as fun today. Its a shame they don't sell this version on Steam anymore. Works great on Steam Deck when loaded via The Force Engine.1 found this helpful

Star Wars is Legendry
As a DOS game from 1995 this game runs phenomenally well, though it's not without its flaws. The controls and level design are very much from another era that doesn't really translate to modern story-based shooters. HOWEVER, there is incredible modding support for this game that brings it closer to the modern age. I played the first 6 levels vanilla, basically abusing guides to get me through this doom-like. My biggest issue with the controls was aiming up and down being mapped to page up and page down. Using modding support like The Force Engine made the game much more playable and even enjoyable with the reworked graphics, controls and save states. I would highly recommend it for your playthrough, and don't worry about the remaster, The Force Engine is more than sufficient for a decent Star Wars gaming experience. I'm glad to have cleared this from my backlog and experienced the beginning of the Golden Age of Star Wars PC games. On to Dark Forces 2!
