Steel Racer is a 2D pixelated old school racing game, inspired by classics from the 80s and 90s era, featuring great chiptune music, arcade gameplay style and high speed cars!
Race through 50 different circuits along 5 racing seasons! On each season, you can choose the order of the races you want to compete! Win races and money to improve and customize your car and become a racing legend!
You'll be able to choose between 3 difficulty settings and 3 levels of traction assist, which makes your car easier or harder to control on curves, and make the game as challenging as you would like!

Thumbs up so I support the genre, but this is a straightforward game. Try to pick up the nitro and don't hit anybody and you win. 4 hours to 100%. If you play it on hard and turn off traction control, it makes the game more enjoyable, at least a little bit (you have to use the break too) I hope to see a better game from the devs. Good luck!3 found this helpful

An excellent title, made with love for oldies. It hits the sweet spot extremely well. Nice and relatively short, but with enough content to be absolutely worth it. Achievements are earned as you play and are NOT tied to difficulty. Slam the gas, people!1 found this helpful
It's a good game and fun to play, I certainly enjoyed my time with it and completed it with all the achievements. I would like to see a harder version of the game though, one with perhaps fewer laps per race or a stricter limit on nitro charges as after a while the game does become too easy and you find yourself doing lap after lap without ever seeing another car once you climb into first place. Not a bad game for the price, a good soundtrack and wonderful graphics makes this something worth checking out as something to play on your steam deck.1 found this helpful

what it does, it does well enough, but it doesn't do a lot. also boringly easy. just hold the gas and turn as needed. I didn't use the brakes even once.
