I use to play this game all the time back in 2003, but I dunno now, when I load the game everything is off entered to the right, and I can't see anything not even my radar.. my pgup pgdn buttons don't work. I basically can't functionally play this game.
I dunno how much fun is to be had in 2026 with what servers are left. I played this from 1997 to 2003 or so and sometimes up to 6 hours a day. it was a blast back in the day. the different servers play wildly different with different settings to things like ship speed turning speed shot spread shot speed bomb spread bomb radius. Buncha stuff like warping and anti warp and repel and burst bombs....was a very deep game theres capture the flag games and death match and duels and....so much stuff.
PC specs added for humor. This game could run on a fridge magnet. Been playing this thing off and on since the 90s, usually duoing with epox / april, way more hours than are shown. I miss 17th Parallel immensely, but Trench Wars is a damn fun map that rewards practice and dedication. The team based matches, alongside that "practice makes perfect" gameplay aspect make this a timeless fun evening chill title that genuinely holds its own even today. Miss ya Jon.
