Succubus Contract

In a word: TEDIOUS. It's a mediocre HuniePop clone with none of the style or personality or polish. The art is inoffensive at best, the writing is forgettable, the characters are your average unremarkable bland tropes-with-tits, and the gameplay is bog-standard match-3 dating sim fare. The grind, however, is f*cking REAL. Even the H-scene minigame manages to overstay its welcome by the time you're done with it the first time. That isn't to say it's necessarily a BAD game, it does come off as earnest, rather than your typical cynical cash-grab asset flip that most porn games are, but it's just... profoundly "meh".

I've tried hard to like this game, but honestly, it is just too difficult to get a handle on for me to enjoy it. There are too many oddities in the game that make it less than fun. For instance, sometimes when you are buying drinks (to give as gifts) the price reads $15. But the drink actually costs you $20, or $25, or $30... So, if you aren't constantly watching your funds, you can be surprised when instead of spending $75 for 5 allegedly "$15" drinks you end up spending $150. The game also appears to have some math glitches in the scoring. A number of times I have seen the markers indicate that I had scored 1, or 2, each for a match. But nothing was added to my score. I've played a lot of games like this, and this is the first one I've flat out given up on. In its favor, the artwork is pretty cute. And the game seems to have the makings of a fun experience. But for me, it's too irritating.

Majority of the game is spent in the puzzle side of things. Normally not a huge deal, but in this case it's REQUIRED that you complete a puzzle to progress. Even if you already got them done before anything else, you still have to do one more to move on. The puzzles can't be that bad, right? Wrong. The amount of points needed to complete a stage goes up, but the point value of the gems stays absurdly low. To get any significant score, you need to carefully line up each match... but you can't, because it requires that you make another match in order to move the pieces. This wouldn't be so bad if you weren't on such a strict move limit. This leads to my next point. The amount of RNG and pure luck needed is insane! Even with the points you spend to improve your odds, the skills you level up, the abilities you unlock, and you still can't guarantee you'll win. The amount of content in this game is disproportionate to how much time you'll spend replaying the same levels over and over again trying to get a beatable board. Not enough lewd and too much grinding Not good

Succubus Contract is a budget version of HuniePop straight from WetPantsuGames' oven. Worth throwing a penny? You sign a contract with a succubus and go on a mission to collect energy from anime girls. There are 8 girls to interact with through discussions, dates, gifting etc., in order to gain increase their affection indicated by the number of hearts on their profile. The number of points require to win match-3 dates increases after every win. Difficulty is rather moderate and there are various ways to improve your chances. You can buy them a drink to lower the required score and/or invest points in various passive and active skills. Every heart gained rewards you with either a photo or an interactive scene. I sure enjoyed the gameplay despite lack of originality. The music is somewhat average. Good background filler and fits rather well but nothing memorable. There are only a few tracks that change after every load or interaction. Special effects are fine as well. The art quality is perhaps better than price indicates. Amount of detail stands somewhat above coloured sketches, at best average in my books. Animated scenes are a nice addition but not much better than some decent…
